Jeff Gordon: No superstars in the '08 signing class, but good depth and size.

David: If the Rams entirely disliked Martz and his staff, and reportedly didn't like Al Saunders, why the change of heart to let Linehan pursue him? Did they finally realize that the Rams were made for Martz's all-out offense rather than Linehan's very conservative style?
And also, with a lot of people favoring Chris Long at #2, could you explain what's wrong with James Hall? Not suitable for the 3-4, too old, too lazy, too injury-prone? Or are the Rams even barer on defense than the OL?

Jeff Gordon: Saunders was well-liked here. He a Dick V. guy, not a Martz guy. As for the Rams DE, you have an aging Little and a beat-up Hall -- and no young pass rushers on hand. Drafting Long would make sense.

Bill: If a trade could be made what would it take to get Jason Bay and Matt Morris form Pittsburgh. Would Reyes and a outfielder such as Shumacher or Duncan be a possibility for the trade. Duncan will be eligible for arbitration next year and eyes is till relatively inexpensive. The Cardinals would pick up two high priced contracts from the Pirates but give then a legitimate bat behind Glaus and a number 5 starter who could be a little better than that. I'm certain it would take anohter player on the Cardinal siude with some upside, such as a Pomerancz,

Jeff Gordon: Fans here want to make that deal. Something tells me the Pirates would laugh at it. Why trade Bay if you don't get Rasmus in return? Morris could be another matter, if he starts poorly and Pittsburgh just wants to dump money.
