Jeremy: You can't honestly believe Carpenter will pitch in '08 can you. It takes at least 12 months to come back from Tommy John and most people take 15 months. That puts it right about October. Hmm, to little to late. Isn't this his second Tommy John? isn't that what he had when we sgned him back in 2002? I can't see him doing anything more than Matt Morris did in 2000 as a long reliever. For all we know, the amount of work done on Carpenter and his arm, he may never pitch effectively again. On another note, Looks Like Reyes is a lock for that 4th spot now. Do you see him, Thompson, or Wellemeyer getting the bulk of starts in April. Since they don't need a 5th start that much, who gets the bulk of the work?
Jeff Gordon: Carpenter should be fine, unless he develops a related injury (as Josh Kinney did). The only shame with Chris is the amount of time the team wasted with its initial treatment plan.

Jeff\San Jose: Jeff, You've mentioned on several occasions the "the NFL hates the Rams." On the other hand, I've also heard John Shaw is held in high regard in league circles.

Can you give some background on that?

Thanks
Jeff Gordon: Again, Goodell did not want St. Louis an expansion team. Tagliabue intervened to get Jacksonville back in the hunt after Wayne Weaver decided to bail. Then the NFL was horrified when the Rams left LA for St. Louis. I haven't see the NFL look at the Rams favorably since. Heck, I had people totally convinced that Super Bowl XXXVI was fixed BEFORE the game was played.

cole hoppmann: I think the cardinals are going to have a nice spring training but they do have some open spots,at 2B/5Th Starter/Cf could they trade for players that are fA's that could play better than the guys that we have going for these
spots.
Jeff Gordon: Out of the pile of 2Bs and CFs, the Cards will find somebody capable. They could sure find better fifth starters than what they have. Could they still make a trade or add a free agent?

At pitcher? Yes. At the other spots, I'd be surprised.

That appears to be it for now. Thanks for all the questions!
