Where does Josh Phelps fit into things. When he signed it was played up pretty big in the papers but now it look like he might not even make the team.

Jeff Gordon: The Cards need a RH power-hitting first baseman. The fact he can catch in a pinch helps. But he can't play the OF and either Spiezio or Duncan could replace Pujols at first if Albert's elbow flares up. And there are many candidates for the limited DH at bats. So the roster competition is pretty intense.
