Ryan Sullivan: Gordo,
With all the lefty starters in the NL Central, especially on the Cubs and Pirates, does Juan Gone have an edge on making the team?
Thanks
Jeff Gordon: Let's see if he can actually play the outfielder. Otherwise Barton and Ludwick would stick as platoon OFs.
nick: Any possibilty of the Rams being compensated with draft choices directly if Walsh shown to have video taped walk-through b4 Super Bowl and hence Belicheck further shown to be the liar that he is?
Jeff Gordon: Perhaps, but the evidence would have to be damning. Remember, the Jets caught the Patriots red-handed.
Tom Boeckelmann: What do you think is the main reason for the Blues inconsistent play this year? Would you attribute it to young players or a lack of a consistent lineup from game to game? Thanks for your thoughts!
Jeff Gordon: It would be nice to fob it off on the kids, but too many veterans were unsteady this year. McKee and Rucinsky are just two examples. Toivonen failed as the backup goaltender and guys like Kariya and Jackman needed to do more.
It's on the veterans, really. And Murray has some reflecting to do as well.
ken: Hi Jeff,
I like what the Ram's have done with their front office and coaching staff and by adding Brown and Bell!
Hopefully they're not done and are looking to add a WR (Drew Carter ?), LB, S, and C.
Do you have any new insight as to what is next for our beloved Rams??
Jeff Gordon: So many holes, so little time -- actually, there is a LOT of time. The Rams have enough flexibility to add help at OT, WR,CB, S, LB -- pretty much everywhere.
Kevin Weber: Is there any chance izturis could be somehow moved to AAA or released if we feel like he is not needed at some point in the year. Especially so we can free up a roster spot
Jeff Gordon: Last question of the day -- sorry about the choppiness, but I had a little technical woe.
I figure Izturis will get a good run at this job, given the financial commitment. At worst he should be a solid defensive replacement. I want to see Ryan on the team because I like his energy, but I also see the need for more power and the need to keep Miles busy . . . if Kennedy hits at second.
It's so fluid right now. The competition is fierce. Tony would just like to see that reflected more clearly in the infield play.
Thanks -- see you next week!
