BleedBlue24/7: Gordo, Have you ever seen a more talented trio of Oshie Berglund and Perron come to this franchise and make a bigger differance? And with that being said do you now think we will make the play-offs? Thanks Gordo..
Jeff Gordon: I kept dismissing this team's playoff chances, due to the brutal closing schedule, but these guys keep proving me wrong.

In my time, I haven't seen a young trio like this come along. I wasn't in St. Louis yet when the Federko/Sutter/Turnbull group came along.

DisCard: As the end of the beginning draws near, I just don't see Duncan hitting cleanup, even against right hand pitching. He certainly won't convince anyone not to walk Pujols. The lineup that works for me would have Rasmus hitting second with Ankiel and Ludwick platooning in the cleanup slot. How do you see it?
Jeff Gordon: I agree with you. Hitting clean-up is a beast. Troy Glaus didn't like doing it, for good reason. Ludwick can't do it full time, but I like him against lefties.

To me, Ankiel is the natural there. To put Duncan on the spot is unfair, since he is already forced to play out of position defensively. The combo of the two could kill his season.

John W: Jeff,

Reading the box scores, I'm amazed how well Khalil Greene has been hitting throughout spring training(.413 AVG, only 3 SOs in 63 ABs as of March 30th). I was expecting a spike in his performance given it was his walk year. But is this some kind of mirage?
Jeff Gordon: He can't hit like that in the real games. But if his bats .265 with 15 to 20 homers and 70 to 80 RBI, that would help offset the loss of Glaus.

stlcardfan78: Gordo-

In 31 spring training games the Redbirds have given up 20 runs in the ninth inning.

I know Spring Training doesn't "count", but if you've watched this baseball team this spring...its much of the same from last year so far.

Can I count on STL Dispatch to unabashedly tear JM to pieces with his lip service lying BS to the fans? I hope you make his job impossible and run him out of town. I don't root against the home team...but JM is not the answer...he's a mainstay of the problem.
Jeff Gordon: It's a little soon to write off the GM, especially when the youth movement has produced spectacular progress at every level of the organization.

As these kids hit the big leagues one after another, fans will find it increasingly difficult to crush Mozeliak.

When it became obvious the team needed another lefty reliever, he went out and got one. If another need arises, he'll have to address it. If he doesn't address it, then he'll have to answer for it should the Cards struggle.

Donnie: Thanks for taking my questions. Two things:
1) With the Blues pushing for the playoffs (which I believe they will make), what are your thoughts about Keith Tkachuk returning to the Blues next year. Do you think he will? Does he want to?
2) Same questions about Dan Hinote.
Thank Jeff & Go Blues!
Jeff Gordon: Hinote is doing a fine job, but it would be tough to pay a premium for a part-time fourth liner when so many young players are making progress. Guys like Crombeen and Winchester need to stay and play. Kariya will return next season and fit somewhere on one of the top three lines. King will return to add a heavyweight fighter.

Tkachuk would be a good guy to bring back, on the other hand. He can still help the power play as a front-of-the-net guy and he has been willing to play a secondary role at even strength. His leadership can't be underestimated. This team has a good vibe about it. It can't keep everybody
