I have no basis for this, but I am convinced that Duncan stays with the team as long as his father is employed with the club. How much, if any, influence do you think his dad's presence has in MO's office? I know MO or anyone else would ever admit to it publicly, but I would think it's in the back of the front office's minds.

Jeff Gordon: Duncan will stay with the team as long as the team needs a LH power hitter. If a deal presented itself to add an impact RH bat, he could depart in the package. Everybody understands the nature of the business.

Kevin Reynolds: Ramirez follow-up...Thanks for answering my question! What if you replace Rasmus with Bryan Anderson in that deal and McClellan with Motte or Perez? I would be willing to make that deal if it meant getting Ramirez long-term...Anderson won't start for us and I'm willing to give Motte or Perez with the remaining one as our future closer...maybe...Hate giving Garcia...but we gotta' get a long-term SS solution AND impact bat to protect Pujols...Ramirez solves 2 problems at once...
