MNCardsFan: I know that K. Greene is dangeriously near the Mendoza Line, but how are his at bats? Is he putting together at bats? Is he hitting the ball hard? I don't think there are a ton of K's. Is there any hope that his coming out of it?
Jeff Gordon: No, the at bats have not been great. And the Cards are desperate for offense, so it is hard to be patient.

shive..Palmyra, Mo.: i think we can all agree that our bench is below average...and then you read where the CUBS trade for Ryan Freel, who can, and has, played every outfield and infield position.

We watched last year when the cubs got Hardin, and we did nothing..deja vu all over again?
Jeff Gordon: What does Freel offer, really. In 171 career at bats against the Cards, he has zero homers and five RBI. The Cards have plenty of multi-positional players with that sort of power.

gjsandifer: Gordo, have you heard anything else about Chase Patton, did the bears sign him to a free agent contract? I know that street free agents do not have a great chance of making an nfl team, but hey a chance is better than no chance, and have you heard any more on chase daniel? Last question, Roger Allen, I hear that he is a pretty strong looking guard and that the rams may have a good future starter in him have you seen this guy and what can you tell us?
Jeff Gordon: Daniel faces a tough battle to earn a No. 3 job. And Patton faces an uphill battle to become more than a camp arm. His lack of meaningful playing time at Mizzou makes it tough for him.

On the other hand, Matt Cassel is a rich man . . .

That's it for this week!

See you in two Mondays, because next week is Memorial Day.
