Jeff: Jeffrey - Anyway we bring back the Dream Weaver and throw him in the 'pen?
Jeff Gordon: Why?
Lawarence Marmie: Hey Gordo,
How about those Yankees? After a hellish start, they've been looking like they're actually playing up to their paychecks. I was worried about Sabathia playing under the pressure of the Big Apple, but he seems fine with it. Of course, October might be another story.
Jeff Gordon: Money is talking, eh?
MIke: Gordo,
I was wondering what you thought the Cards are going to do with Ring. Having a great year in AAA but he is not on the 40 man roster and with two LOOGIES already, no real need. Will he just finish the year at Memphis or will they try and take advantage and see if they can get a little something for him before he walks at the end of the year?
Jeff Gordon: Ring doesn't have a whole lot of value. He could fill in here, if catastrophe strikes.
Mysterio6: Gordo: To point out that the Cards could use a Felipe Lopez-type acquisition seems to me a significant indictment of the FO in the last off-season. Seems we HAD a "Felipe Lopez type." And I don't understand the point about "we're a game out of first-place." We were IN first place much of last year; the team finished fourth. Is it enough just to be "not eliminated" before September 15?
Jeff Gordon: Lopez came for nothing, which made him a great get. The Cards kept their kids and some of them are helping right now.
Mo can afford to keep the long term in mind because the team is in good overall shape. Any move he makes, he will make it in that context.
Jeff: Because the Dream Weaver is a winner!
Jeff Gordon: And he would give the Cards 14 pitchers.
