murrowboy2: are there any Cardinals--other than pujols, wainwright, molina and carpenter--who should not be dangled as trade bait?
Jeff Gordon: No.
Joe: Jeff,
Do you think the Cardinals see Skip as the long term fix at 2B? If Duncan teaches pitch to contact doesn't your defense up the middle go along with that? I like Skip, just in the outfield.
Thanks
Jeff Gordon: Nah, Skip is just filling in for now. He is doing an admirable job of adapting, but I would be surprised to see him stay there for the long haul.
JP: Hey Gordo, so with all of the excitement of the NBA finals, buzzer beaters, and overtime victories. I am just curious as to what you think the likelihood of a NBA team moving to St. Louis would be? Thank you for your time!
Jeff Gordon: In this economy, zilch.
Jason Busb: The whole state of Missouri is too cheap and just want to get by. St.Louis cheap owners would rather make their money and let us fans watch pitchers that wouldn't make another major league roster. Last year we could have been great but they just watched the team go down the dumps. Great coaches with bumb pitching
Jeff Gordon: The Cards have the fourth-best ERA in the NL. Which of these pitchers couldn't make another big league roster?
BobJMc13: Jeff
Thanks for the response. As a follow-up, you are telling me that Dave Dombrowski of Detroit is a worse GM than Mozeliak? Dave has taken tow teams to the World Series (it would have been three with Montreal, but it was the strike year), built two World Series winners with the Marlins (although he left the year they won their second) and is currently in 1st place.
You may want to rethink that...
Jeff Gordon: Dave has rolled the dice on some big deals. It looked he bought a long-term juggernaut. Then the bottom fell out and his team had to eat a LOT of salary.
It'll be fun to see what he does with less money going forward. He has worked in that world, too, so it'll interesting.
And he did sign Porcello after the Cards passed, so he has that.
