Ken Wilson: Hey Gordo,

I noticed after Saturday's win I didn't hear or read any positive comments from TLR and Duncan about Mitchell Boggs. Are you aware of Boggs receiving any priase for his best start to date? If not, does this suggest that TLR is looking and waiting for a reason to demote Boggs to justify starting Mulder?
Jeff Gordon: Boggs was great, so he's in the rotation until somebody knocks him out. TLR has given all the kids long looks. Questions about Wainwright, Wallemeyer (with his elbow) and Mulder keep Boggs on the front burner. The guy that got displaced in all this was Thompson, who has been mostly fine when used this year.

Ken Wilson: Hello Jeff,

Rumor is a 13th pitcher will be added to the roster soon because of a tired bullpen. Why hasn't Mulder thrown a pitch or even warmed up yet under these circumstances?
Jeff Gordon: Mulder warmed up Sunday, but wasn't used. I assume he will be a mop-up guy until he proves his stuff is together. There may be some thought to starting him against the left-leaning Mets, but that could be too exciting.

MELVIN: Do the rams have anybody there looking at to help @ safety?
Jeff Gordon: Nothing has excited them yet, but let's see what happens when camps start rolling. The staff just doesn't see the urgency the fans see.

MELVIN: Wheres James Hodkins when you need him?
Jeff Gordon: Ah, that man could block all day. He fumbled a bunch in his first camp, but Dick V. stuck with him and got the payoff.

Woody: Gordo: Thanks for taking my questions. What are the roster implications for a team that suspends a player internally, such as the incident with Chacon last week. Does that suspended player count towards the 25 man roster, or is it like the DL, do they get to bring someone up to replace that player? Also, would a team have to pay a suspended player? Are the roster and salary rules different for say, a 50-game steroids suspension handed down from MLB?
Jeff Gordon: Due to union rules, team suspensions are rare. Teams usually just whack guys, as the Astros did to Chacon for the issues you raised.
