Rob: Jeff, it would seem that the bullpen is really struggling as of late and that maybe it could be attributed to the fluctuation of roles in the pen? Wouldn't be a good idea to go ahead and put Perez in as the closer? thus returning Franklin to his very familiar and successfull 8th inning role which of course would cause a ripple in the pen and return everyone to their accostomed roles. this potentially could settle the pen down. I know the starters have taxed the pen lately but a more clearly defined role for all would seem at least on the outside to be a good idea. Whats your take?
Jeff Gordon: Perez has hit a few bumps, which reminds us why you can't give a kid too much too soon. He has great value as a set-up guy. Franklin isn't a lights out closer, but he can handle the job mentally. His save Sunday, bouncing back from tough earlier outings, was large.

Perez' day will come, perhaps by next April. In the meantime, we may see Izzy get in save situations this homestand if his knee holds up. He has made a nice return after his earlier implosion.

Tyler: Whats the latest on the Contract talks with Long?
Jeff Gordon: Linehan conceded that his deal may not come by the start of camp, but that is still the kid's intention. I don't understand the holdup, since the other Long already set the bar.

corey clark: first off jeff you are a true sports god.what do you think the blues are going to add on july 1st.what about salvador coming back to the blues.
Jeff Gordon: Blues fans would love that, especially if JD could also move out McKee to make it work. But the dollars committed to McKee, Brewer, Jackman and Johnson make it tough to add one more pricey veteran. Instead, the team will lean more on Wagner and Polak . . . unless another move can be made.

Matt: Hey gordo!

Who makes more of an impact next season? Berglund or Oshie? I went to development camp and Berglund looked more impressive the day I was there. What are your thoughts? And get a hold of the Blues third jersey for us so we can see it. I wish they would release that soon. I'm interested in what they thought up. Thanks!
Jeff Gordon: Berglund is huge and smart, so I would expect him to succeed. He ought to match up just fine as a NHL rookie. But then again, Oshie has the wheels and he loves to hit. He will be an energy guy. Comparing impacts is tough, because they are so different.

Justin champion: Hey Gordo,

The Anaheim Ducks put Todd Bertuzzi on waivers, and if he clears he will be bought out of his contract and will becomes an unrestricted free agent. Do you think at the right price the Blues might take a chance and sign him. He might help the powerplay if anything. Your thoughts.

Justin
Jeff Gordon: He has really, really slowed down -- both his hands and feet. If the Ducks don't want him -- and the Ducks LOVE size -- he must be done. Buyer beware!
