Ron: Why does a catcher or a pitcher not get charged with an error when a passed ball or wild pitch occurs? If a runner is on base, the runner will advance to another base. Any other position player is charged with an error when they allow a runner to advance. I just wondered. Thanks
Jeff Gordon: That is just a peculiarity in the baseball rules -- a pitched ball has its own categories for mistakes.
Bobby1964: Gordo,
0-16! Book It! Nobody in their right mind could think otherwise. The Lions will have a feast on this sorry lot.
Jeff Gordon: Did you see Jacksonville play Sunday?
RamsFanSince60: I have been following football for a very long time like most of your readers. In all my years I have never seen media so kind to a coach and his staff, this guys are a joke! Why do you not call them out? I don't care if they are new, I beleive we have seen enough.
There is no difference between this team and the teams coached my Linehan with the exception Scott actually won a game once in a while.
This OC has no imagination, he is a joke!
Jeff Gordon: The offense came a long way in this game, getting 400 yards against a strong offense. That was a step in the right direction.
Spagnuolo took over a terrible team that has been further depleted by salary dumps and injuries. Any hopes of a quick turnaround ended once the remaining front-line players started to drop.
ramsfan2009: okay. I am tired of you barron-haters. Just face it-You (included) want him to fail. But he is good-proven today.
Jeff Gordon: As noted earlier, he plays better against better opponents and worse against lesser opponents. This is his make-or-break year, financially. You maybe the only person in the work who believes he has arrived as a top-tier left tackle.
Josie Wales: Hi ya Mr. Gordo..
Tough end to the baseball season.
Just for thought,
Since a big bucks, big market team would give a lot to get Pujols, would the team be better off trading him for 4 or 5 quality players?
I've heard his value from the Yanks or Sox would be something like:
* a stud young pitcher a la Wainwright
* a young 5 tool future all star like Rasmus
* an established position player with All Star potential the level of a Holiday or Figgins
* two top minor AA or AAA prospects, one being a top pitcher
It would be tough to trade away the best player in baseball, BUT..
1) he has an elbow that is a time bomb and couild blow any time
2) chances of signing him are maybe 50 / 50 and if he does sign he will eat up so much payroll that it will be hard to field a competitive team around him.
3) According to Bernie, Albert doesn't listen to anybody including TLR. That's a bad chemistry thing waiting to happen.
Do you think Albert would bring that much in trade?
If Mo could get a package like this for Albert wouldn't it be worth it?
Thanks for your chats. I look forward to them each week.
Jeff Gordon: Trading the best player in the league makes no sense. The team has the resources to surround him with good players (like Wainwright and Carpenter) and a farm system now capable to reloading.
With some minor retooling, this team will be right back in the pennant chase next year.
