Jeff Gordon: Jersey color was the least of the Dallas problems Sunday.
Tim: Is there any truth to this rumor im hearing about a Peavy and Greene for prospects deal being almost done? I dont understand why greene would be included. How is he an offensive upgrade? Im a huge fan of Furcal and would rather see that. Anyway its probably not true but was just wondering.
Jeff Gordon: Greene hit 27 homers two years ago and is a good bet for 15 HR and 60 RBI a year. That beats getting a couple of homers and 30 RBI out of that position. He is a bit of a gamble coming off a tough year, but then again he won't command $15 million a year on his next deal, like Rafael might.
Tim: When is Stempniak going to be back? Id love to see that stemp mcdonald boyes line pairing again especially the way the Blues have been rolling theyd be that much stronger.
Jeff Gordon: And Lee makes the power play better, too. This is not a serious injury, but there is no sense playing him until he is flying again.
Tim: If the Cards do get Peavy, do you see them shipping out more prospects and go after Brian Roberts? Im not thinking so but If Greene is involved in the deal we deffinutly need a better offensive 2B
Jeff Gordon: If the team takes on Peavy and Greene money, there will be no budget dollars for a high-priced second baseman.
Secret Sauce: Do you see Peavy in a cardinal uniform in 2009?
Jeff Gordon: The Cards are one of four to five serious bidders. We'll see.
