9elbirdos: Gordo,

Thanks again for your time. Do you believe it's time for the Cardinals FO, to put a mememto of Harry Carey in the ballpark as was done for Jack Buck.

I know Jack was with the Cardinals all threw his career. I also know that Harry left under some questionable circumstances. I believe it is time for by gones to be by gones. Give Harry his due.
Jeff Gordon: Caray's mark on this franchise is so distant now. To me, it's too late to do anything. Buck casts such a large shadow over him. In time, Mike Shannon will get honored. But Harry . . . I don't sense much support for that. In this town he is seen as a Cubs man.

9elbirdos: Gordo,

Could you tell us of the progress of Sheldon Richards is he playing well??

What are his grades like?
Jeff Gordon: From the Visalia Times, on Sheldon Richardson's JUCO work:

"One of the biggest reasons the defense has been dominating at times is its defensive line, which features two players Sheldon Richardson and Lavon McCoy who were recruited by top Division I schools.

"The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Richardson, from St. Louis, Mo., was one of the top defensive linemen in the country and has already committed to the University of Missouri. But the biggest surprise on the defensive line may be McCoy, a 6-foot-5, 345-pound nose tackle from Compton, who was recruited out of high school by the University of Southern California, according to head coach Curtis Allen."

Will Sheldon ever play for Mizzou? We'll see. He will have to be recruited all over again.

Tackleberry: Gordo,

I'm nervous man. Look, there are obviously three pieces to this offense that are incredibly inconsistent: Bulger, the WR's, and the offensive coordinator. But ultimately who shoulder's the blame and is shown the door in January? What makes me nervous is that Devaney and Spagnuolo will choose the wrong one. There is not a #1 receiver on this team. Not one today or one that seems able to be the #1 of tomorrow. Bulger, while maybe not awful, is guilt by association. He is one of the constants during this time of turmoil. Shurmur is new, doesn't have a lot of weapons at his disposal, but is he really calling good games and putting these players in a position to succeed? Does Spagnuolo have the ability to notice if he is failing?
Jeff Gordon: There are eight games to go. Let's see what happens with the offense before deciding the changes.

I've assumed that Bulger would move on, but he could get another year, if he redoes his contract, if he take charge can win some of the remaining games. The veteran options at QB will be limited after the season and anybody drafted will need time to develop.

Let's see what we learn about Burton, Avery and Gibson. Robinson is out, so we can only guess about him. Same with Foster.

Tackleberry: Gordo,

What is your greatest fear with regards to the Cardinals' upcoming off-season/free agency?
Jeff Gordon: That the Cards could lose Holliday AND DeRosa, then fail to find a third OF bat that fits the team chemistry. I would sign DeRosa ASAP and guarantee him 500 ABs as a 3B/2B/OF. Even if Freese develops on schedule and Skip holds up at second, DeRosa could get those at bats here.

Francisco Prado: How you doing Gordo? Thanks for these chats. How would you rate so far this year's Rams draft class?Do you believe that we did well on the players that we picked?
Jeff Gordon: Due to injuries, it is hard to say. Foster never made on the field and Fletcher, who was just coming on, could be sidelined into the 2010 season. His injury is severe enough to throw his NFL future into question. Smith missed time, too. Given all that, it is impossible to grade the class.
