thejager: Hey sir!
What do you think of this:

Skip and Anderson (and throw in Ryan if they will take Kennedy and half his salary)

for

Antonelli and K. Greene (we take all the salary)

is this too much, not enough? SD doesnt seem to havea future catcher and we coudl use a future 2bman and SS
Jeff Gordon: Not sure the Padres are THAT eager to move Green's salary, but this is a thought. Greene would be an interesting gamble.

renostl: Jeff

The Cards are always wanting some "payroll flexibility" With the current make up of the starting pitching and nobody who is ready to step up from the minors if/when a SP goes down there seems to be very little of this flexibility.
Do you think that the Cards would be best served both long term and short term to trade from their excess of OF and RHRP for a young SP still trying to make it maybe one who is falling out of favor in their current home like Reyes was here.
Jeff Gordon: Sure, if they can spot a younger guy early in his earning process, then go for it. It IS hard to spend a ton on more than a couple of starting pitchers. That's what the team means by flexibility.

Joe Stafford: Jeff, does Brock Berlin have any playing value? Would it be a goo idea to start him for a few games toward the end of the season to see how he does, or is he a career backup at best?
Jeff Gordon: Things would have to be pretty bad for that to happen. Berlin had a great preseason, but I'm sure if he is a prospect. But then again, we said the same thing about Warner way back when.

ric: Jeff: Why didn't the Lambs ..I mean Rams try an onside kick after they're 2nd touchdown? They knew they couldn't stop the Gridbirds anyway so why not try it w/ 12minutesw left?
Thanks
Jeff Gordon: That game as over. O-V-E-R.

Joe Stafford: Jeff, any chance of Eddie Debartlo (Spelling) buying the Rams? He made the niners winners for years, and probally do the same for the Rams.
Jeff Gordon: He has expressed some interest in getting back in the game and he has noted the potential sale here. But would the league take him back.
