Cards Fan in St. Pete: Looking at the Rays, they have a surplus of starting pitching, with Andy Sonnenstien and Edwin Jackson the most likely to be traded. Rays need right field help. Do you see a match up to pry one of those starters to STL?
Jeff Gordon: A lot of fans are hyping Edwin. That could be interesting. He does have a nice arm.
Anthony: Have you heard anymore on TJ's recovery? Is he going to get back in there soon? The Note is NOT the same without his "dog on a bone" efforts. They look like a bunch of shot-happy guys hoping the net net will not be covered and they will somehow get some points up on the board...Go Blues BUT wheres the enthusiasm
Jeff Gordon: He's a month away, probably. That is a shame.
hugeCardfan: Agree with your defense of Mo. He seems to have done a superb job up til now and I too think the package as discussed was too much for a rental. Also seems that Ank was a better fit...from Cards perspective...and more reasonable expectation for Rockies. If we threw in Mather and Boggs then it might have been a fair deal.
Still want more attention paid to 2d and short. What's your best guess?
Jeff Gordon: Sure, throw in Mather and maybe you have something.
Mozeliak has lots of assets. He'll reshape the roster. Fans want it done yesterday, but that won't happen. He can pull the trigger, but he won't make deals for PR reasons.
alex: of all the SP avaialable who would you like to see the cards get?
Jeff Gordon: Penny, for little money, would be good. Lowe would be the best, but it will cost plenty.
Scott: With Holliday now an A where do you see the cards focusing their attention?
Jeff Gordon: Middle infield, LH relief, starting pitching are all bigger needs than LF.
