hugeCardfan: Jeff,

Cards still haven't found that 2d LOOGY. Any info on that front? What is Tyler Johnson"s status?
Jeff Gordon: Can't count on Tyler, as we saw last year with all those hurlers. But I'd expect him back at some point. But Mo is still looking, although the Rhodes overture apparently comes up short.

Bill: If the cardinals were to spend $15 mil per year for 4-5 years on a pitcher, do you think if would be wise to invest that in another starter, or for a closer?
Jeff Gordon: That's too much money for closer. Teams are more likely to develop closers from nowhere than starters. But Fuentes, at the right dollar, would be a nice fit. Or Wood.

Boyd Dressler: I lived in St. Louis when the Chicago Cardinals moved to town. The Bid-Farewells, er I mean, the Bidwills, aka. carpet baggers, duped St. Louis into thinking they would provide a viable football team...all lies. Since then I believe St. Louis fans, always smart, are leary and guarded about sports franchises other than the BB Cards.

Do you believe the same scenario is happening now with Ram ownership? That is to write, are they purposefully putting an inferior product on the field to create an excuse to move the team?
Jeff Gordon: Purposely stinking only costs an owner money. The Rams could leave full houses behind for LA and get away with it, if the stadium issue is unresolved. Losing doesn't make it easier to move any more. It's a wide-open marketplace. The NFL would like to control it, but it can't.

Mike: Since everything is going to hell, do you think that it will be possible for thousands of empty seats in all three sports over the next couple of years?
Jeff Gordon: The economy could hurt the Cards, but the team will be fine. The Blues will be good next year if they skip the golf course outings. As for the Rams . . . yikes!

Griff21: Lopez had a very good run here, otherwise he's just an extra , replaceable player with limited skills. I am glad we have all but passed on this guy. I see no downside in keeping kennedy though , he has a little less pop.
Jeff Gordon: Yeah, I've warmed up to it. Adam is OK as a No. 9 hitter.
