matt: Jim,
With the resigning of Gorin and the signing of Bell do you think Petitti will stay with the team or let go? Thanks
Jim Thomas: And don't forget Goldberg. I would guess Petitti gets invited to camp, but it's hard to see him making the final 53.

Steve: Just want to say that I'm glad the Rams haven't overeacted and gone crazy with free agents. But I am a little puzzled that they seem to think that their linebacker situation is fine. I think they should have at least talked to Lance Briggs. What do you think of the Rams linebackers?
Jim Thomas: Witherspoon is Pro Bowl caliber. Tinoisamoa needs to stay healthy; he was playing very well a year ago before his latest injury. Either Culberson or Draft should be able to fill in Chillar's spot. But that would make the depth shaky.

Chris: Jim:

Is there a reason we haven't heard about the Rams having any interest in WR DJ Hackett formerly of the Seabags? Seems we just released a WR, and are in need of a WR. Does this make too much sense to do?
Jim Thomas: I think the Rams are concerned about his injury history. But he does have speed, and has flashed some big-play ability against the Rams.

STiLetto: Thanks Jim for hosting.

A lot of folks believe that with Jacob Bell onboard and Pace and others returning from injury, the Rams should focus on DE. I could not disagree more. With so many needs remaining, we need to look to shoring up at least one side of the ball - namely, the OFFENSE! If you look at the films from the past two years, you see Marc Bulger getting the same happy feet that Kurt Warner did after he was pounded by opposing defenses. And now with Trent re-signed, we're two hits away from Brock Berlin. I say draft Jake Long; lets build some quality depth on the O- line, and make some holes for Steven Jackson, and keep Marc upright.
Jim Thomas: I think there's a lot of merit to Jake Long at No. 2. But don't you agree that the Rams absolutely, positively have to beef up their pass rush on defense?

Bigdaddytomcat: Is Fakhir Brown up for another suspension. you have mentioned that the rams are not confident that they will have him
Jim Thomas: I'll leave it to you to connect the dots.
