stewy griffin: hey big jim, HOW DID THIS NEW SCOUTING EXECUTIVE BLOW IT?
THE RAMS HAVE A FUTURE SUPERSTAR IN GLEN DORSEY AND YET
THEY FAIL TO STICK TO THEIR ?STACKED BOARDS AND DRAFT
A UNDERWEIGHT SOAKING 268LBS LINEBACKER-CHRIS LONG-AS THEIR RIGHT DEFENSIVE END? COME ON THEY STILL CAN'T STOP
THE RUN. I WISH JIM HASSLET GETS HIS RESUME UPDATED AND
STARTS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DEFENSIVE HEAD POSITION. THE RAMS WILL STILL LOOL DOCILE AND MEEK AGAINST THE TOP TEAMS.
HOW ABOUT GETTING ANOTHER TRUE RUN STUFFER IN THE 350 POUNDS RANGE TO STOP THE RUN VS A 290 POUNDER LIKE CARRIKER. OH WELL TIME TO START STACKING THE 2009 DRAFT
AND SEE WHAT NUMBER 1 DRAFT PICK AWAITS THE RAMMIES?
Jim Thomas: I don't know Stewy. Maybe Devaney got nudged in this direction by higher forces.

Bill: Jim,
Like many people I am amazed at the Chiefs draft. Do you think it will be as good as advertised or is it simply they drafted more name recognizable players?
Jim Thomas: No doubt name recognition has a lot to do with these instant draft grades. That's partly why there has been criticism of the Rams' selection of Avery out of Houston.
But by all accounts, the Chiefs got the best D-lineman in the draft in Dorsey and the best offensive guard in Albert.

Mike: Jim - What kind of presence might Howie Long have around Ram's park now that Chris was drafted by the Ram's? I know he is quite busy during the season with his pre-game work, but could we expect to see him mulling the halls during the offseason? Also - What kind of challenges, if any, do you foresee with getting Chris Long signed before Training Camp?
Jim Thomas: To a large degree, I think Howie will stay away. (Maybe he shows up to camp for a day or two, etc.) But the impression I get is that Howie Long feels this is Chris Long's time, and he doesn't want to intrude on that.

Mark: Well, What grade do you give the Rams on the Draft?
Jim Thomas: B- or C+

Mick in Macomb: Hey Jim,
What's the latest on the training camp location? Macomb would really love to have the karaoke stylings of Jim Thomas back in town this summer!
Jim Thomas: You must have me confused with Howard Balzer and R.B. Falstrom. (I think it's Wisconsin.)
