Jim Thomas Live
The Rams beat writer goes one-on-one with readers from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday in a live chat.

Gabriel 2 Snow: I saw that Yvenson Bernard failed a physical, is he out of the picture? Also, should Caleb get cut in Detroit, can we send a zillion e-mails or something to get him a tryout with the Rams?
Jim Thomas: Yeah, once you fail your physical, you're done with that team.
On Campbell, I don't know if the e-mails will work. For example, some of the local media were lobbying the front office and coaching staff to sign Mizzou S Pig Brown, and that didn't work.

Dochal: Jim,

In your opinion, what, if anything, positive or negative, is the biggest difference between the 2007 Rams team at the conclusion of their first full mini-camp and this year's squad?
Jim Thomas: Positive, there seemed to be a lot of energy on the practice field. A very good tempo, both during drills and even going from drill to drill. Marc Bulger seems commmitted more than ever to being a team leader. Chris Long will help the defense. (More than Dorsey? Don't know.) New offenses coaches, particularly Saunders and RB coach Valero are much more vocal than their predecessors.

bfulton: How much of the play book can rookies take with them before they graduate and sign their contract? Given that this is a relatively new system for the team, how much of the play book can veterans take with them when they leave the Rams' facilities?
Jim Thomas: Don't know about the rookies, but I saw Looker leaving with a huge playbook Sunday. It apparently was the playbook for the 14 practices during the OTA period.

TROY OF MARYLAND: Hey Jim I forgot one other thing do the team ever talk about or notice how the national media talks down on them (I know we stunk last year)but wow.
Jim Thomas: Many of the players aren't that different from fans. They watch a lot of Sportscenter and NFL Network. And they read the Internet. So I'm sure they're aware of some of the national media comments.
