Jerome Cox: Hi Jim,
Saw late hits on Bulger and out of bounds hit on Brown not called. Lots of holdiong calls on Rams. Were the zebras doing home cooking for NE?
jerry
Jim Thomas: It was very frustrating for the Rams. And yes, this feeds into the paranoia going all the way back to Super Bowl XXVI when the Patriots did everything short of criminal assault to slow down the Rams receivers. In Sunday's game, some of the overlooked calls seemed pretty obvious. I was surprised that Haslett didn't make a bigger deal out of them, but I'm sure he doesn't want to get fined. There were some other obvious no-calls as well. Witherspoon was blocked in the back on a short pass to Faulk that went for a big gain. Witherspoon was in position to tackle Faulk in the backfield. Little was mauled on at least one occasion trying to rush a passer on one of the few plays he was in the game. You don't expect the refs to see all these infractions. But none of them?
I just wonder if the NFL office is aware of the impression in St. Louis and Indy and other outposts that the Patriots are coddled by the league. And it wasn't just the Rams-Pats game. Did you see the Denver-New England Monday night game the week before? The Broncos appeared to get totally hosed on calls as well.
StlKerby: Hey Jim,
Thanks in advance for your time on these two quick questions.
1. Is T. Holt done? Or is it more a case of the ball not getting thrown to him?
2. Its early, but B Devaney’s first draft seems to be coming on strong. How do you feel about Greco and King’s future once healthy?
Thanks for these live chats, what a great service you provide for us fans!
Jim Thomas: 1.) T. Holt is anything but done. Continued development by Avery and Burton will help free up Holt, who's still getting plenty of extra attention.
2.) Yeah, the early read on Devaney's draft is good. Although it's way to early to pass judgment. King was looking good in training camp prior to the injury; he had moved ahead of Wade. And I still think Greco has the potential to eventually be a starter in this league.
Kenny H.: Jim,
Not that it matters, but I keep hearing that the 69-yard pass to Avery was Bulger's career long. Am I crazy, or are they wrong. I would have sworn that Bulger threw an 80-yarder to Curtis in the Colts game in 2005. It was the game where Bulger later left because of a shoulder injury following an interception, and might have been the first game that Martz missed due to illness. First quarter, from their own 20, Bulger whips it to Curtis and replay showed Marc just started walking to the sideline as soon as he threw it, knowing that Curtis was gone?
Jim Thomas: You're memory's pretty good, but. . . .Bulger threw a 57-yard TD to Curtis against Indy that year before leaving with the injury. Curtis did catch an 83-yard TD pass that year, but it was against Jacksonville and the pass was delivered by the injured Bulger's replacement _ old friend Jamie Martin.
Mitch from San Diego: HI Jim,
Thanks again for your time. I just read the Perfect Patriots commited no penalties in the game yesterday. Baloney!! I read a column here in SD a couple of weeks ago prior to the Chargers rout of the Patriots that enumerated the pluses and minuses for each team. One plus listed for the Chargers was that since the game was here the Chargers would not have to contend with the "Blind Officials of Foxboro. Now I know what they mean.
I watched the game with six others and we saw:
1. Bulger's helmet spun sharply to the left, a flag dropped and then picked up.
2. Fakir Brown being shoved way out of bounds into the Patriot bench.
3. Bulger being body-slammed well after the pass was thrown by Richard Seymour and to add insult to that foul, when Bulger tried to get up Seymour pushed him down again!
These are just the ones that stuck out. They would have been game changing fouls had they been called. And all of these fouls were committed (check the tape) with at least one official staring right at them. I saw other games this Sunday where these kinds of fowls were flagged repeatedly. For example I saw #87 of the Giants get a fifteen yarder for pushing a guy on the arm after the whistle.
The Rams played a good game with terrific effort for four quarters only to be cheated again by the Patriots and the Blind Officials of Foxboro.
Jim Thomas: It's amazing isn't it? Maybe this crew came from nearby Wrentham. And this was a close game where field position was very important.
cardsnumber7: Hi Jim,
I love what Avery is doing, and what about his YAC! The guy is a playmaker.
When Bennett is back healthy, what is the depth chart?
Thank you
Todd W.
Jim Thomas: Good question. Avery of course will still be the starter. I think the No. 3 spot depends on if Burton continues to develop. Bennett is at least a couple of weeks away still. He's going to try to do some running this week.
cardsnumber7: Hi Jim,
IMO we woulda won yesterday's game with Jackson, although Pittman did a pretty decent job. What's your take? We still almost did without him(and probably could've with TD's instead of FG's)
Also, if Jackson is in, do defenses tend to play us different, than when he is not. I remember the Rams saying this last year, when Jackson didn't play or left game early w/ injury? Or did NE do this yesterday?
PS OJ Atogwe is good
Thanks
Todd W.
Jim Thomas: I think the Rams win by 10 with a healthy Jackson in the lineup. The Gillette Stadium press box is in the end zone, and we could see the holes open on running plays very clearly from that vantage point. What did Pittman have _ 83 yards? Jackson doubles it. Pittman missed some run reads, and although he is smaller than Jackson, doesn't have his acceleration through the hole. As the game progressed, the Patriots played both safeties deep, in essence doubling both outside receivers (Holt and Avery), almost daring the Rams to run. The Rams probably should've run more.
jon in kentucky: Although Pittman did a decent job, he didn't do great. I know the rams were high on Kevin Smith but Detroit made a trade with GB to snag him up just before he fell in our laps, were we going to draft him, and why did we pass on Chris Johnson. Hope Jackson back next week, we would have beat the Patriots we need you jackson.
Jim Thomas: The Rams did have Johnson in for one of those pre-draft visits in early April, so they liked him. I think a speedster such as Johnson or Felix Jones would have been a perfect complement to Jackson. But the Rams felt they had greater needs in other areas.
Rita from South County: Hi Jim,
Thanks again for hosting these chats for us.
With the emergence of the young talent on the team (Long, Carriker, Atogowe, Ryan, Bartell, Avery, Pittman, Burton,)the Rams have the core group to be a contender for several years.
What are the vibes from the FO about the state of the team - do they feel they're on the right track, or is it a "wait and see" attitude until the end of the year? Who's making these calls now since Shaw and Ziggy are on the way out and Haz has an uncertain future - is this Billy D's team?
Jim Thomas: Rita, you hit on a very interesting point. For the moment, everything is on hold contract wise. And keep in mind, Bartell, Atogwe, Manning Jr., and Brown to name a few are all scheduled for unrestricted free agency at the end of this season. Incognito is scheduled for restricted free agency. This team still has some holes. A couple of more good drafts are needed. But the team isn't far off from being a playoff contender. Please note, I said, playoff contender, not Super Bowl contender. Chip Rosenbloom is coming to town this weekend and he plans to meet with Haslett to discuss the future of the team. Unless the team stumbles in the final nine games, I believe it's still Haslett's team. And although the situation remains fluid, I think a Devaney-Haslett tandem in '09 in terms of making personnel decisions remains likely. (Or at least, the frontrunner in terms of the future of the organization.)
jon in kentucky: I am by no means a Bulger Hater, but as quickly as he regained his confidence against Dallas he once again lost it with the Pats, he seemed to get rid of the ball to early before there was significant seperation for the receivers, especially in the red zone. i hope he watched Peyton on Monday wait til the last moment to complete his passes. Either relax and make a good pass or throw the ball away, is no one in his ear reinforcing this message?
Jim Thomas: I thought Bulger played pretty well Sunday _ in the face of almost constant pressure _ but was just so-so in the fourth quarter. Some of those high throws in the end zone were a case of simply throwing the ball away.
Dan Lum: Has Torry Holt died and I don't know about it? Why aren't the Rams getting this man the ball? .. even post Linehan? All of a sudden Donnie Avery is "The Man" in St.Louis. How many Pro Bowls has he gone to? How many Super Bowl rings does he have? By the way, Orlando Pace and Pisa must be jetisoned this offseason, they're done in STL.
Jim Thomas: On Holt, I agree. They have to find more ways to get him the ball.
As for Pace and Pisa, I couldn't disagree more. When he's been on the field, Pace easily has been the Rams' best offensive linemen. As for Pisa, yes he was beaten for that TD, but it was an excellent throw and catch. Pisa also had clearly been the Rams' best linebacker this season.
J.C.: hi jim,
thanks for your response last week to my question. i watched the game on sunday and was so darn excited and proud of this team as they hung on to a close game, HOWEVER, I thought bulger was indecisive and scared. I am still steaming about the late offside (or was a holding) penalty on incognito...is he just to fired up? He needs to play with his brain instead of his emotions. man...i think he is sometimes really stupid. anyways, my main point is the disappointment regarding bulgers late game performance...is he really worth $60 million??? either he mans up and play like a top tier qb or we start thinking about drafting one for the future and ship him and holt for quality young stars in the offseason. what do you think? thanks!
Jim Thomas: I think you should quit treating what the TV analysts say like it was the gospel, particularly C-teamers (at best) such as JC Pearson.
Here's the breakdown of the final three Rams plays of the game:
1.) First down---Bulger is running for his life because _ once again _ the Rams can't keep Richard Seymour out of the backfield. so Bulger has to throw the ball away.
2.) Second down---Burton missed a hot read. He fails to adjust his route to a blitz. Bulger throws the ball where Burton was supposed to be, it falls incomplete.
3.) Third down---Bulger throws the ball into what looks like triple coverage because Avery ran the wrong route, which allowed his defender to peel off easily for the play which resulted in an interception.
Boy, what a bum Bulger is.
Tim: Do you think the Rams might start reshuffling their line a bit? Id love to see Grecco(where he should be) get in there mabye at RG and move the looney toon in at center. Those 2 along with Bell is a nice, aggresive, and strong interior line. Not to Dismiss the current line I think everyoune relizes that Bulger is probably the most immoble QB in the league but they have givin up 24 sacks
Jim Thomas: The run blocking was very good against New England. The pass blocking was, in my opinion, very disappointing. Bell, Lecky and Barron all had problems at time. I kind of go back and forth in my mind about giving Romberg another shot at center.
Tim: Looking formard to the draft what direction do you think the Rams might go?They are in position to get a top 10 pick There most likely needs to me are OT LB S TE QB. Right there im thinking Andre Smith or Rey Maualuga. A couple weeks ago I was saying Macklin but with the emergence of Avery and Burton I think it would be wise to look elsewhere. One guy I would love to see Is Coffman, He is a pure TE that does everything you need a TE to do. Id also like to see possibly more but I think top 10 would be a little hight for those 2
Jim Thomas: If the Rams do indeed have a top 10 pick, I say take the best player available. Don't pass on quality for need.
Tim: Do you think the Rams might start doing some deep balls to Avery? Hes been out running everybody and it seams like no one can catch him. That would be a monster weopon for our offense
Jim Thomas: They've actually been throwing a lot of deep balls to him. In the past three games, he has catches of 43, 42, 35, 69, and 44 yards.
ramsfan8583: Something I don't understand with Haslett and the Rooney rule. Its been in effect for over 10 years right? So why was it ok for Martz to take over for Vermeil but its not ok for Haslett?
Jim Thomas: Actually, the Rooney Rule has been in effect only since 2003. I think my colleague, Bill Coats, had a typo on the date. When Martz took over for Vermeil, the Rooney Rule was not in effect.
Francisco Prado: Jim, greetings from Vegas. Can you tell me what is going on with Torry Holt? Is it the knee? Has age caught to him? Can't get no more separation? Avery is developing faster than we thought since we all thought he was a little raw coming out of college, shouldn't he be open or at least draw less attention.
Jim Thomas: Very interesting question. And tough to answer. I keep waiting for him to have a breakout game, but it hasn't happened yet and we are almost at midseason. For one, the Rams aren't throwing nearly as much as they have in the past, so there are fewer opportunities. I don't think Holt runs as well as he did, say, five years ago, but he's by no means a slowpoke. He still has great hands and runs very good routes. He should still be a 1,000-yard plus guy. But this offense is still developing. We'll see what happens with Jackson back in the lineup. And I do think, with Avery continuing to establish himself, it will draw attention away from Holt. But it hurts not having any type of receiving threat at TE with McMichael out.
Sam Rescone: While the club has been playing MUCH better since Haslett took the helm, what do you think will be the focus in the upcoming draft & free agency? I still say: left OT; LB; CB; S, OG, LDE. What do you think?
Jim Thomas: I think all those needs are still be formulated, and will continue to crystallize as this season winds down. I'd say OT, CB, S, C, DE, LB are the top ones at this point. (Geez, that's almost every position.)
James: Jim,
I realize we lost the game but I see a lot of positives coming out of it. The defense has played very well in particular a couple of guys I have been a little down on; Atowge and Long. I still think Chavous is a liability but am happy overall with the defensive side of the ball.
The offense puzzles me a little. Where are the screens when we have pressure coming? Why not use Holt in a wide receiver screen since we put him in motion? I'm sure even Klop could catch a TE screen. It seems we're not making the necessary adjustments to defensive pressure. I do think the game would have been different if Jackson were playing, so I am not ready to place the blame on Bulger just yet eventhough he has been throwing a lot off his back foot. Still reminds me of Jim Everett.
I think Haslett has done an excellent job. The team seems prepared to play which was one of my biggest complaints about Linehan. I think other teams are looking at the Rams on the schedule and thinking it won't be a pushover.
Zygmunt and Shaw still need to go but our draft class has played better than expected. I hope that between Haslett and Devany our next class starts with an offensive tackle and goes to safety and linebacker after that. A quarterback of the future would be nice too.
Please send my reguards to Chip for the tough coaching change and let him know that I at least have some hope for the future.
Jim Thomas: Pittman is not nearly the receiving threat that Jackson is, which minimizes the effect of screens. Rams rookie receivers missed hot reads _ or route adjustments on blitzes _ on more than one occasion Sunday. That hurts as well.
dave: Jim, do the rams see anything in Jonothan Wade. The guy was so raw and got burnt repeatedly last season. Does Haslett or Devaney really think he can become a contributor at CB some day? Some day before his rookie contract runs out?
Also, will we see Greco or Schuening this season. It seems that if richie plays well and gets a new contract at the end of the season, we may never see greco play and definetly not Schuening (since Bell has the left side manned for good). If he can't do anything at RT, then what was the purpose of picking two guards? Seems like a mistake in scouting really...
Jim Thomas: I think they were hoping for more from Wade than they're getting. He's been on the field at CB only when they've had no other alternatives.
I too wonder why the Rams took two guards in the draft instead of a tackle. Granted, Greco was a tackle in college _ and a good one _ but the Rams seem convinced that his future is at guard. There's no guarantee Incognito will be back. And keep in mind, even if they re-sign Incognito, players do get injured. Just look at the Rams line the last couple of years. It doesn't hurt to have depth.
michael gordon: hey jim, thanks for the forum.
what do the rams think of fells. they seem to like him and bulger was talking him up last week. will he become the primary pass-catching TE for the team since becht and klop both have terrible hands (granted klop is injured).
also, wondering how king is recovering from his injury and what he thinks about his move to the pro's since he was put on IR and his penn state team is keying on a bcs championship match...cheers
Jim Thomas: Rams seem to like Fells. He's caught a ton of passes on the practice field. And had one thrown to him Sunday. He played a lot more than Klop against New England, although Klop has some issues with a wrist injury.
King is doing fine. His rehab is on course, but he's got a long way to go before he's ready to get on the field.
4thandJuan: Jim,
Any indication that Romberg will return as starting C? Also, Nick Leckey is listed at 6-3, 300 pounds. That's not so small, as he's been described.
Jim Thomas: He doesn't look 6-3, or 300.
ram4life: I think it is possible that the Rams could have candidates for offensive and defensive rookie of the year in Avery and Long. With your insights, do you think the same?
Jim Thomas: I think Avery, in particular, could make a run at the award. But there's still a lot of season left. And both he and Long would need a lot more production to truly be in the running for such awards.
NAZRamFan: Jim,
Three very quick questions...
Is there still no word from Scott Linehan?
Do you think he will be a candidate for the U. of Washington job?
What did you think of what Singletary did to V. Davis on Sunday, particularly the public humiliation part in his comments after the game? Personally, I thought it was a bit over the top, to put it mildly.
Thanks.
Jim Thomas: 1.) I've left a couple of phone messages for Scott. Still no reply.
2.) I think Scott would love the job. But I don't know if the feeling is mutual from the Huskies.
3.) I haven't read a lot on the Singletary stuff, but I do think it was a little over the top.
jmj-LA Ram fan: Hey Jim, do you know if Hasslet got on D. Hall for dancing around the endzone in the Patriot game, We had at least 2or3 plays if he just downs it. The way D. Avery been catching the lately, I thought we had a realist shot of a touchdown. What do you think ?.
Jim Thomas: I don't know what Hall was doing back there.
Frank from SoCali: I'm a RAMS fan from the L.A. area and go to SF every year to cheer on the RAMS against the Golddiggers from Frisco. There are suprisingly a lot of us RAMS fans left in Cali. Are there RAMS fans in every stadium? Were there any of us in New England against the Patsies?
Jim Thomas: We see a few Rams fans at every venue, but certainly nothing like the Greatest Show days, when autograph hounds seemed to be everywhere at the Rams' road hotels.
coleyrock: Hey Jim, thanks for answering our questions
The Rams have responded really well to Haslett leadership.. Marc Bulger didn't particularly look good against the Pats and frankly does not merit the contract he signed.. Where should the Rams start in grooming their successor a young free agent QB or the draft? Thanks
Jim Thomas: There's so little available in free agency these days at QB, I would think almost certainly the Rams would look in the draft. As for Bulger, I realize the fourth quarter wasn't great _ far from it. But did I miss something? Didn't the guy throw for 300 yards?
Buzz: Jim,
Tye Hill lacks confidence and plays like it this year under coach Ron Milus. Under Willy Robinson, he was at least a serviceable young corner. Did the change in lead coach have anything to do with his regression in your opinion? Can good coaching get him out of his funk? Thanks.
Jim Thomas: Good question, and I'm not sure about the answer. But Willy Robinson, despite his gruff ways, was (is) a good coach. And I certainly do feel that Hill can be coached out of his funk, but it's got to start from within.
ramundo: Jim, its great to see the Rams play with more spark and enthusiam! Makes you wonder if they (some of them) really did intentionally quit on Lineham. Big question for our upcoming game against Arizona is how can we put big time pressure on accurate old Kurt Warner. Given time, as he proved last week against a solid Carolina D, he'll pick us part. Think we'll put in more blitz packages...or how do you think the Rams coaches will approach it?
Jim Thomas: Venturi hasn't blitzed a ton since taking over. And he lost his best blitzing corner (Manning) for the year with injury, and lost his best pass rusher (Little) for most of the New England game. If Little is healthy, that will be a great help against Warner. And keep in mind, Warner remains adept at picking apart blitzes. When the Rams do blitz, they better get there.
eddie c: Overall, feeling after the game sunday: patriots got special treatment by refs. No late hit call late in game when bolger was knocked to ground well after ball released by d line patriot and held there. Saw holding(arm over shoulder and around back of rams d lineman) on patriots first drive. How could there be no calls against them? If calls were neutralized, rams would've won. Why wasn't this addressed to the league office by haslett? Did he forget? Couldn't see punt call from TV angle, was that off as much as haslett thought. Have seen special treatment for patriots, home teams in general. Can't review these calls w instant replay?
Jim Thomas: Haslett said the Rams did send several plays into the league office for review. After looking at the tape, he still thought the Rams were robbed of at least 10 yards of field position on the Donnie Jones punt out of bouncs. The 29-yard punt resulted in the game-tying field goal. I don't think any of those plays are reviewable.
ihtnep: No excuses, no satisfaction with almost beating the AFC champions, this one made me sick! I would buy the "moral" victory thing had NE played mistake free football, and the Rams played mostly consistently but just come up a little short. I never hated the Kansas City Royals (and Denkinger) like I hate the New England Patriots, and I haven't wanted a victory this badly in any regular season game in a long time. AND IT WAS RIGHT THERE FOR THE TAKING! Yeah, we didn't have Jackson, but they didn't have Maroney, Harrison or Brady. Seemed even to me.
The officiating was a joke, even the Boston press admitted as much.
Here's my question:
Is anyone in the press going to seriously ask Bellicheat if he really thought the officiating was fair and the Patriots played penalty-free football? Is he REALLY that intimidating that nobody asks him tough questions? Who cares if he takes offense? The guy is a MAJOR jerk!
My two cents
Jim Thomas: I can't speak for the Boston-area press.
As is always the case, home or away, I cover the Rams locker room and Rams coach's press conference.
studebaker: Jim, Thanks I enjoy your columns. Where can I write to express my displeasure with the officials of last sunday's game. Do you have an address? Is this a waste of time?
Jim Thomas: I would try the league office:
Mike Pereira, Vice President of Officating
National Football League
280 Park Avenue
New York, N.Y. 10017
jlaue: i think with a mobile qb we would have a better shot at winning. what are your thoughts. berlin looked so good in pre-season. forget about bulger's salary for a second, what are your thoughts?
Jim Thomas: In terms of mobility, I think you have Brock Berlin confused with Bruce Gradkowski.
DEEJ: I hear everyone complaining about Bulger and the officials, but my question is did the Ram's run the ball much in the 2nd half? I don't know the stats but they seemed to get away from the run late even when they had a lead.
Jim Thomas: They carried 12 times for 48 yards in the first half; 14 times for 42 yards in the second. But after taking a 16-13 lead 2 1/2 minutes into the fourth quarter, the Rams ran on only 3 of their final 18 plays in the game.
rams26: Hello Jim -
If Haslett is retained for next year, do you see him keeping Saunders? Also, will Bartell be ready for this week? We will have our hands full with Boldin and Fitzgerald.
Thank you!
GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jim Thomas: Yes on Saunders.
And all signs point to a yes on Bartell for this Sunday. I think it was just a stinger.
steve: this question will probably be asked 10 times, if so, you can skip this one. haslett's contract is not acceptable, correct? if so, how do you see the rams execs handling things? i would think that jim haslett has shown that he can lead a team, even one as sorry as these rams were just three weeks ago! i thought 0-16 was a real possibility. now, i see every game as a winnable one with the effort this team is putting out. i asked last week if there was any wiggle room or did the rams absolutely have to go 6-6? could they go 5-7 under haslett and that be good enough for him to keep the job. after the two wins and the great effort up at n.e. without jackson vs a 'perfect' team, i couldn't be happier with haslett's effect on this team. do you see the rams execs hiring haslett for sure next year even if he doesn't go 6-6? of course, this is assuming he is the best candidate available after the search process is completed, a process that will interview a minority.
Jim Thomas: I think all signs still point to Haslett returning, although of course, he's going to have to win more games. With the 6-6 thing no longer in writing, I don't think Haslett has to go 4-5 over the final nine to stay. All they have to do to meet Rooney Rule requirements is interview a minority candidate, and still hire Haslett. I don't see it as a major impediment.
Chris (Ohio): Jim:
Incognito is a stiff. Too many penalties and bad blocking. When will they put in
Greco or Scheunig in his place?
Jim Thomas: Incognito actually has played well these past two games, particularly as a run blocker.
Mark: Hey Jim
So, no penalty yards on the Patriots. Pretty amazing stat, in my opinion. Do you think we're whining when we point that out, or is it a legitmate complaint? As far as I'm concerned, home field and the ref advantage that went with it decided this game.
Mark
Jim Thomas: No, I think it's a legitimate complaint. And as I mentioned before, in a tight game like this one, field position was very critical.
Reggie from stl: Hey Jim,
We need a young quarterback with a strong arm and speed, but we have plenty of needs to fill with the draft. Why don't we sign D.J. Shockley from Alanta.I believe his contract is up after this season and with our Qb coach he could be a stud.In all fairness he was vicks back up which means no playtime and even when Vick was hurt Shaub was there and now with all the money invested in Ryan he has no chance. With a little mentorship and time with these young recievers we could have an awesome team.See if you can hit this to the coach or Billy D.Thanks
Jim Thomas: Devaney, you may recall, came to the Rams from Atlanta. I'm sure he knows all about Shockley.
BigDogCigar: Jim
How has your assessment of the overall talent of the organization changed in the last three weeks. Four weeks ago it seemed that everybody thought the team needed to blown up and started over. Now it seems we have some legitimate talent. While we certainly are not a elite team - it would seem that we do not have as far to go as previously thought.
Jim Thomas: Well, I think all along a lot of members of the St. Louis media were saying that the team couldn't be as bad as it was playing during the 0-4 start. I though all along this team had 7-9, 8-8 talent. And that was not knowing what to expect from the rookies. Right now, the rookie class looks pretty good. But we still have nine more games to make those assessments.
SpecialTeamsGuy: If you had to use seven words to describe Al Roberts' special teams peformance this season (for the most part), what would you say?
Jim Thomas: Not so good, good, good. . .and good.
ncdc: Jim-
What do you think the Rams do with LaRoi Glover this off-season- re-sign him for one more year, or let him go/retire?
Jim Thomas: Good question. I know he's a Haslett guy from his days with New Orleans. But he hasn't made a lot happen so far this season and he does turn 35 next July.
florissant rams fan: Hi Jim,
Thanks for doing these chats. i have got two questions.
1 - What do you think the injury situation will be this week with S.Jackson, A. Carrikar, and L. Little?
2 - How are ticket sales for the upcoming games? Any confirmed sell outs?
Jim Thomas: 1.) We'll no more later in the week, but as of Tuesday afternoon, I'd say Jackson (yes), Carriker (doubtful), Little (50-50).
2.) There have been no official announcements but the Arizona game this Sunday, and the next home game (Chicago on Nov. 23) will be sellouts.
Ram Chops: Hey there Jim,
Wondering if you have heard any news on the re-signing of OJ and Victor.. anyone talking about deals yet?
Jim Thomas: All quiet there. But I hope the Rams at least try to re-sign a few of these guys before the season is out.
That's all for this week. I've got to work on some newspaper stuff. See you all next week.
