renz's rams: Jim,
you keep saying Bulger can't be cut, but he CAN. Lets just eat the cap hit NOW with the cutting of pace, little and holt in the last year of those contracts we can offset his being cut and really players over 33 are not going to be good when this team gets good again....
Jim Thomas: Let's say you cut all four of those players by June 1. If that's the case, you're still on the hook for $24.3 million in "dead" money _ or prorated signing bonus. Do you really want to start out in that kind of hole?
Petey123: Is Chip in this for the long haul if he can't find a buyer that is willing to keep the Rams in St. Louis?
Jim Thomas: To be determined.
GoRams2001: Jim,
You've been watching the NFL (not just STL football) for a long time. Many STL sports media-types say this is the worst football they have EVER seen in STL. In your experience, how does this rank overall? Are there any parallels to previous terrible teams that we can draw hope from?
Thanks so much for your time today.
Jim Thomas: In my opinion, it's the worst. And I saw the Missouri teams of the mid '80s (OU 77, Mizzou 0) first-hand as the Tigers beat writer.
