RamRanger: I hope Mark "ho-hum-don't-hurt-me" Bulger's shoulder injury improves so he can remain pain-free on the bench. Someone should do an "iso-camera" on Alex Barron; he doesn't have the lateral speed to engage his onrushing defense, nor the ability to sustain a block, nor any fire, or displayed enthusiasm. At least, so far, he hasn't jumped prematurely causing his patented "false starts". Watch him, upon completion of most downs, he can be seen just standing around.....Go Rams.......RamRanger
Jeff Gordon: Interesting, wasn't it, to see Spagnuolo bench Barron in the second half. Let's see if that gets his attention.
I'm not optimistic.
steve in Kentucky: Fourth and two from the niners 33 in the first quarter and they try a 51 yard FG??
What is with this conservative play calling garbage and has there ever been a bigger free agent kicker signing BUST than Josh Brown. With Seattle, he makes that kick with his eyes closed. He then comes to St. Louis and suddenly forgets how to kick???
Absolute joke.
Jeff Gordon: That is on the edge of his career and the wind was nasty. Ask Nedney, who missed from 43 yards. It would be nice to get in the red zone once in a while to give him an easier kick.
Tackleberry: Spagnuolo needs to make room for a new pillar, something dedicated to grooming a more disciplined team. This team's volume of penalties is going to make Mike Martz look like Bill Cowher by January.
Jeff Gordon: And then came the turnovers, on top of the penalties. What a mess. How can you work hard all week, then do THAT on the field. Spagnuolo is really getting tested here.
jat richards: Jeff:
I write this at the end of the first quarter to ask, whatever happened to Josh Brown, the placekicker who used to beat the Rams when he played for Seattle? Truth is, he's still beating the Rams, but unfortunately he's now employed by them!
He has missed three of his first four FG attempts this season and since joining the Rams, has shown neither the distance nor the accuracy he once possessed with the Seahawks.
Are the Rams absolutely married to this stiff because of his huge salary? If I were running the Rams, I'd start bringing in kickers on Tuesdays to send Mr. Brown a stern message that his gross incompetence won't be tolerated much longer.
Jeff Gordon: Brow could go to another team, get multiple FG tries every week, find a groove and become a Pro Bowl candidate. He is way down the list of players to fret about.
Tackleberry: Does Shurmur know that you are allowed to throw the ball down field further than 10 yards?
Jeff Gordon: If our lifetime, will we ever see the Rams complete deeper throws down the middle of the field? Interesting that the 49ers talked about needing to throw FEWER deep balls and work underneath a bit more to be more successful. And we thought Linehan's defense is dull.
