virginiatom: I like Spagnualo and am confident that he can turn this around, however, I don't have confidence in the west coast offense. Is our problems that the personnel the Rams have on offense don't fit the system? Is it that they don't understand the system well enought to execute it? Is it that they system itself isn't very good in the NFL today? Or is it that our players just aren't any good, regardless of the system we use? What is your take on why this offense is so inept?
Jeff Gordon: Bulger's accuracy is a good fit for this offense, but his lack of mobility is a liability. Otherwise, the Rams should have the people needed to execute this thing. They just did to block as well as they did today and catch the ball when it is thrown to them.
virginiatom: If the Rams make a move for Kolb from Philadelphia, what do you think the price will be for him? Is there anyone else out there who is holding a clipboard that you would bring in instead of drafting a franchise quarterback?
Jeff Gordon: The Eagles would want the No. 1 pick and more for Kolb, since he is the only back-up that offers any hope for real improvement. Beyond him, there isn't anybody else I'm excited about. I'd rather see them go for a veteran, but could a Brady Quinn or a Ryan Fitzpatick make a big difference?
virginiatom: This year has become a rebuilding year and with half the season left, isn't it time to audition for next year. With that said, why not move Long to the left side, Smith at left tackle, Goldberg at right tackle, Null at quarterback, and move some of the other young players in and start sitting down the players who won't be here next year? Especially with Long and Smith, who so much are invested in. Why have to let them "learn" their new positions next year when they can do that this year so that they can actually contribute next year. It just doesn't make sense with this season lost not to do that.
Jeff Gordon: Long gets moved around, so that isn't an issue. Otherwise, the Rams are still trying to win. This team needs to learn how to win games, as it did today. There is real value in that.
nevadariverranch: Jeff, Doesn't anyone on the defensive coaching staff know anything about having the corners ko'ing the recievers within the 1st 5 yards?
Jeff Gordon: This defense is supposed to feature "press" coverage, but it lacks press corners now that Bradley Fletcher has bee wiped out into next season at some point.
nevadariverranch: Hello Jeff, I have to say WOW Donnie "Plastic" Avery made a 15 yard catch and didn't get hurt, Miracles do happen I guess.
Jeff Gordon: Donnie has actually been playing hurt, which the team needs him to do.
