virginiatom: I have heard the cap numbers and hard to develop a first round quarterback talk, but if Tim Tebow is there, why wouldn't the Rams begin to build their future with him? He is a leader and a stud. If its just cap numbers, then Bulger has this team held hostage and is jeapordizing the future. A second or third round develpment quarterback is nice, but they aren't normally franchise quarterbacks and whoever we bring in to compete with Bulger is going to be a retread who might get us 6 wins. You look at the great quarterbacks this year and except for Romo, they are all first round picks. And their team success follows this. Why not pay the cap numbers, continue to build, but at least build around someone who is going to be your franchise quarterback?
Jeff Gordon: The trouble with the cap is this: If you have two very highly paid quarterbacks, then you will really have a tough time filling the other eight or nine acute team needs.
It'll be interesting to see which QBs come out of this draft and which guys the NFL really likes. Tebow is a horse, but he'll need to develop some passing touch to prosper in the NFL.
baddmann28: Wow. Remember the scene from A Clockwork Orange, the brain washing scene? Is that what's necessary for this team? Lock them all in a room watching film of correct technique? This is horrible.
Jeff Gordon: Great movie, Clockwork Orange. Not so good for the kids, though. Not a family movie.
Can the Rams create a new atmosphere without going that far? Sure, but will take great leadership.
Chris M - Columbus, Ohio: Gordo:
All I want for Christmas...1 New Team President / GM, 1 New Head Coach, 1 New Quarterback, 1 New Offensive Line, 1 New Middle Linbacker, 1 New Outside Linebacker, 1 New Run Stopping DTackle, 1 New Cover Corner and New attitude for team and some heart to gut the tough times out!
Merry Christmas!
Jeff Gordon: That is a pretty large sack for Santa. He might have to make multiple trips.
Midnighter67: I feel bad rooting for Warner and Fitz but I have them on my fantasy team and this is the first round of the playoffs. Should I feel guilty, Gordo?
Jeff Gordon: Not at all. And folks holding Anquan Boldin were getting their money's worth, too. Folks earning Steve Breaston hated to see him leave with an injury.
Tackleberry: If I'm a free agent, and the Rams keep Haslett/Venturi/Saunders, why would I ever come to Saint Louis to be part of a losing culture? This club is infected and the only way to heal that infection is to flush it out and clean it up so it can heal.
Explain to me why they'd bring back Haslett? The same coach who has played Witherspoon out of position for three seasons, brought in an over-the-hill Glover, stayed with a past-his-prime Chavous, and has already championed a QB who has continued to not deliver this year?
Jeff Gordon: Yeah, Chavous is having another fine game today. The nature of these losses, week after week, makes you wonder how any of the men in charge could return.
