Joe Stafford: Hi Jeff, now that we finally got a new gm, who is on the short list for next head coach?
Jeff Gordon: He will look at most of the top coordinators, guys like Rex Ryan of the Ravens. I've championed him because I believe he would actually come here.

With so many potential openings, there will be quite a fight over the top coaching candidates. This is a great year to be the coordinator of a good offense or defense.

Joe Stafford: Jeff, any chance that Mike Martz will get an interview? I still think he should return as head coach with a few provisio's. Be required to hire a great defensive coordinator. Romeo Crennell comes to mind. Billy Devaney to be in total control of personal except for QB and Wr's. At least with Martz around the games were exciting win, lose, or draw. You were always at the edge of your seat waiting for what was next.
Jeff Gordon: Martz's goofy behavior would preclude that. John Shaw retains an advisory role in the organization, so I can't imagine that happening. And Devaney wants to go ball control, so a guy at the opposite end of the spectrum -- a guy like Jim Fassel - would make more sense,

Joe Stafford: Jeff, who is out there to compete with Bulger as starting QB? Please don't say Leftwich, you might as well bring back Mr. Fumbles Tony Banks. Left is way to immobile and has a very slow windup. With our line the way it is, he would never get a pass off. I would rather see a rookie and let him take his lumps. How much worse could it be then 2-14, 0-16? at that point it doesn't really matter does it?
Jeff Gordon: The Rams want to compete next year, so look for the team to add a veteran AND draft a QB for long-term development. Leftwich has his limitations, but former starters like him, Anderson and Losman would have to be in consideration. The Rams will go conservative next year and exploit Jackson as much as possible.

But there still needs to be a veteran alternative to Bulger.

Rocknram: Gordo, let's start right of the bat. Next HC? Is there a sleeper, dark horse candidate that is not being mentioned? How about this guy?

Mike Trgovac
Defensive Coordinator; born February 27, 1959, Youngstown, Ohio. Defensive lineman Michigan 1977-1980. No pro playing experience. College coach: Michigan 1984-85, Ball State 1986-88, Navy 1989, Colorado State 1990-91, Notre Dame 1992-94. Pro coach: Philadelphia Eagles 1995-98, Green Bay Packers 1999, Washington Redskins 2000-01, joined Panthers in 2002.

Or Lesley Frazier, perhaps?

Thanks
Jeff Gordon: I've heard Frazier's name in the scuttlebutt -- and he'll be getting interviews this offseason.

Given the high coaching turnover rate this season, with guys like Jon Gruden suddenly in danger, a lot of unfamiliar names will get interviews.

fcoprado: No Mas, Gordo,
No more hell season.
Finally, the offseason is here. The shakeup will begin.
Mmm... Mike Munchak?....intriguing....a darkhorse candidate.
I know this, the OL will be greatly improved, will be the staple of the offense(since that is his position as Hall of Fame player)
What are your thoughts?
Jeff Gordon: But is he ready to be a head coach? That would be a big step for him.

Interesting, wasn't it, to see the old Rams offensive line coach doing so well in Atlanta after getting run off by the Ram . . .
