Bart Bergkoetter: Mr, May
The new area is a great facility, Could you talk to traffic control and set up a drop off and pickup area. When it is 20 degrees and sleeting you will be a hero.
Was very surprised that was unable to find a roster program, They were all taken, possibly have them handed out at the entrances?
But the reason that I am sending this is that I was sitting in section 105 row R, and the lighting was shining directly across and made me use my hand like a bill of a hat, to shield the light. I do not know if adjustment is all that is needed are less wattage, All of the other fans sitting near by felt the same.
Thank you for your assistance.
Bart Bergkoetter
Chris May: Bart,
I'm glad you made it to the Harris Stowe exhibition game. Many fans were able to come and enjoy the facility for the first time....On the drop off question, there is a drop off area on Compton at the Northeast corner of Chaifetz Arena....There were rosters handed out at entrances of the facility. There will be roster cards at the entrance of the arena for the opening game. A Special Commemorative Piece will be given out to fans as they leave that will document fan's attendance at the inaugural Billiken men's basketball game in Chaifetz Arena.....We will follow up on the lighting issue from your section. As in opening any any new facility, there are minor adjustments being made to better serve you the customer. As a whole, the feed back we received following the fisrt game was overwelmingly positive. Thank you for being on the team. Go Billikens! Chris
Chris Manshio: Mr. May,
I am a SLU alum who lives in Chicago, a die hard Billikens fan and season ticket holder. I listen to most games on internet radio when available and usually gather a few folks to watch the games when they are on TV. I have two questions:
1) Why can't the A-10 and SLU get a better TV deal? It would be great if all of SLU games were on TV and accessible throughout the US so we could get a national audience. I can only believe that it would help recruiting and alumni support including donations to the athletic department.
2) I would love to own some Billikens gear to support my team but I am very disappointed by what is available online even though the store got an upgrade. I am not sure if we have a contract with an athletic company (Nike, Under Armor, etc.) but I wish some materials made by them would be made available.
We have a very unqiue mascot, I am really surprised that we aren't able to capitalize on it, market the heck out of it and use it to bring recognition to our school.
Also, if you find an extra pair of large Billiken basketball shorts lying around, I would love to have them!
Thanks for answering the questions.
Chris May: Chris,
Sorry we had a technical difficulty with your answer....We are working closely with the A-10 to deliver a better television opportunity for Billiken fans to follow our team. I believe that you televise as many games as possible. We are working to maximize television exposure locally, regionally, and nationally....With the opening of the new SLU Shop in Chaifetz Arena, the ability to deliver quality merchandise to our fans has been greatly enhanced. You can purchase fan shop gear at SLUBILLIKENS.com. Thank you for supporting the Billikens. Chris
Rick Miller: Mr. May,
Thanks for your time. What improvements (current and future) are planned for the Baseball facility and what is your assessment of this years team.
Thank You
Rick Miller
Chris May: Rick,
Coach Darin Hendrickson is doing a great job in elevating the program. From facility enhancements to a quality recruiting class, the future is quite promising for the Billiken baseball program. In a very short period of time, you will see coach Hendrickson and the Billikens enjoying success on the field. Thank you for the interest in the baseball program. Chris
Jules Weber: SLU has a radio and tv station, couldn't some way be found to have them broadcast the sports games on the internet. As an alumni who lives 1000 miles away. i bet i'm not alone in wishing we could follow our teams NOW!
Chris May: Jules,
Many of our Billiken athletic events can be found on the internet through Billiken All Access. You can find Billiken All Access on SLUBILLIKENS.com. Already this year we have televise men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball. Both women's and men's basketball home games are scheduled to be streamed as well. Thank you for following the Billikens from afar.
Steve: Do you have any idea at this time how many games will be televised and if so, what games?
Chris May: Steve,
The television schedule has been an ongoing challenge. This season's schedule will be released next week. Thank you for the interest.
