The Muny will hold auditions for new members of the teen chorus on Saturday, Feb. 25, in Orthwein Hall on the theater grounds in Forest Park.
Auditions are open to students currently in grades 9 through 12. The auditions will be at 9 a.m. for current freshmen, 10:30 a.m. for sophomores, 12:30 p.m. for juniors and 2 p.m. for seniors. Auditioners should arrive for registration 30 minutes before their assigned time.
Auditioners should come prepared to sing 16 bars, bringing their own sheet music in the right key. An accompanist will be provided. They should also bring dance shoes. Anyone with a special talent, such as juggling or baton, should bring whatever he or she needs to present it.
Call-backs will be Sunday, Feb. 26, with registration at 10:30 a.m. Returning members of the chorus should come to call-backs instead of the Saturday audition.
Teens who are chosen will be cast by show. This season's shows are "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "Chicago," Disney's "Aladdin," "Dreamgirls," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Priates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd)" and "The King and I." The Muny Teen Touring Troupe will be selected from auditions, too. For more information, visit the Muny website.
