Today's celebrity book news features two handsome stars, Daniel Craig and Angelina Jolie.
Craig wil play Swedish journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the English language movie version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." No word yet on the actress who will pay Lisbeth Salander, although Carey Mulligan has been prominently mentioned.
Craig is far too buff to play Stieg Larsson's Blomkvist, of course. But it's unlikely Hollywood will add padding, isn't it?
Meanwhile,Andrew Morton's new tell-all "Angelina Jolie" now has a slightly earlier publication date (July 31 instead of Aug. 3).
USA Today and The New York Times have divulged some of the dish from the book, such as Jolie's childhood, her first lover (at age 14), various other lovers (Gary Sinise, Timothy Hutton, Ralph Fiennes) and the extensive staff it takes to keep Brad Pitt and Jolie's family on schedule. USA Today says:
Though Jolie has never publicly detailed how her household works, Morton writes that in 2008 at Chateau Miraval (their rented 880-acre property on the Riviera), the house was filled with "nannies from Vietnam, the Congo, and the U.S.; four nurses, a doctor on permanent call; two personal assistants; a cook; a maid; two cleaners; a busboy; four bodyguards, and six French former army guards patrolling the grounds."
Pitt and Jolie's relationship, writes Morton, is "a competitive relationship, a constant vying for supremacy."
