Updated with winners (2:14 p.m.): Congrats to commenters phaleslu and measik, who each win one ticket to the invitation-only event Friday at the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton and a chance to buy two bottles of Schlafly Quadrupel aged in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel.

Original post:

In October, Hip Hops reported about a barrel-aged beer project between The Wine and Cheese Place and several St. Louis-area breweries.

On Friday, the first of those beers -- Schlafly Bourbon Barrel-Aged Quadrupel -- will be available in a very limited quantity of 750-ml bottles. Of the 200 bottles for sale, 100 are already spoken for -- allocated to Wine and Cheese Place customers who won a lottery -- and the other 100 will be up for grabs on Friday morning through the store's blog.

Paul Hayden, manager of the Wine and Cheese Place's Clayton location who initiated the barrel-aging project, is offering Hip Hops readers a chance to attend the beer release party and score two bottles. Here's how:

Leave a comment on this post between now and noon on Thursday with the name of your favorite barrel-aged beer and why you like it.

I'll pick two winners on Thursday afternoon. Each will receive one free ticket (a $10 value) to attend the invitation-only release party from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Wine and Cheese Place (7435 Forsyth Boulevard) in Clayton. Schlafly co-founder Dan Kopman will be pouring samples of the brewery's regular and barrel-aged Quadrupel at the event. Each winner also will be able to purchase two bottles of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Quadrupel for $14 a bottle.

Below are the beer's specs as well as label text.

"Our Quadrupel is easily one of the most rich and full bodied beers we make, so when Paul Hayden at The Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton, Missouri, asked us to age some in a bourbon barrel, we were happy to oblige. The resulting ale is loaded with oak and bourbon character, as well as the rich dried-fruit character of the Quadrupel. We have created a unique taste you will only find in this extremely limited edition. We filled just one bourbon barrel and may never produce this beer again, so enjoy!"
