Update: Eric Schlosser will speak at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 25 as part of the Distinguished Speakers Series at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. The evening before the lecture, McKendree and Slow Food St. Louis will host a five-course dinner with Schlosser at Farmhaus restaurant, 3257 Ivanhoe Avenue in southwest St. Louis. The wine-paired dinner is being created by executive chef Josh Galliano, formerly of Monarch Restaurant and the recent winner of the “People’s Best New Chef” award in a Food and Wine magazine online poll.

Author Eric Schlosser, whose bestseller "Fast Food Nation" drove scores of readers from their favorite burger joints, is scheduled to be the special guest at a fundraising dinner in St. Louis in late April. Details are pending and specifics have yet to be announced, including the beneficiary of the organization that will benefit from the events.

Schlosser also narrated the movie "Food, Inc." with fellow food activist and author Michael Pollan.
