"Clash of the Titans" *½ (PG-13; 1:46) • In a charmless remake of an Olympian fantasy from 1981, Sam Worthington is the half-god son of Zeus who wages war on his father, giant scorpions, snake-haired Medusa and a bellowing sea beast called the Kraken. The computerized monsters are mundane, the 3-D effects add nothing and the hero is mortally boring. (Joe Williams)

"Repo Men" ** (R; 1:51) • In a dysfunctional future, cutthroats Jude Law and Forest Whitaker repossess artificial organs on behalf of an evil corporation. On the road to an all-too-ironic ending, this hybrid of buddy comedy, futuristic gorefest and wronged-man thriller runs out of gas. (JW)

"Vincere" ***½ (NR; 1:45) • The untold story of how Benito Mussolini rose to power by trampling on the woman who loved him is a bracingly cinematic lesson in how all politics is personal. Giovanna Mezzogiorno is magnificent as Il Duce's secret wife, while Filippo Timi plays both the magnetic Mussolini and the grown son who goes mad in his father's shadow. (JW)

"The Mothers-In-Law," the complete series *** • Here's a relic … er, rarity: A 1967-69 sitcom from Desi Arnaz (post divorce from Lucille Ball) and the "I Love Lucy" writers. Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard star as longtime neighbors and best friends who become relatives when their children (Deborah Walley and Jerry Fogel) get married. Hilarity ensues. The DVD set, compiling both seasons on eight discs, promises a long list of guest stars, including Arnaz (playing a bullfighter), Rob Reiner, Paul Lynde, Don Rickles, Jimmy Durante and more. "The Mothers-in-Law" has rarely been seen since its original run, but the 56 episodes have been remastered for this set and include an introduction by Desi Arnaz Jr. and an interview with Ballard, now 85.
