For Black History Month, the good folks who run the St. Louis Black Film Festival are spinning off a series of classics that will screen every Thursday in February at the Tivoli, 6350 Delmar.
The Classic Black Film Festival comprises African-American movies from the '50s, '60s and '70s.
The first screenings, on Feb. 2, are the musical "Stormy Weather," starring Lena Horne, at 5 p.m., followed by the action flick "Shaft" at 7 p.m.
Subsequent screenings include "Carmen Jones" and "Car Wash" on Feb. 9; "Imitation of Life" and "Cooley High" on Feb. 16; and "A Raisin in the Sun" and "Superfly" on Feb. 23.
Tickets for individual screenings are $10. For more info, visit facebook.com/stlouisblackfilmfestival.
