Kings of Leon was the first to speak out over July 23's Pigeon-gate at Verizon Wireless Wireless Amphitheater, before the band mostly retreated into silence after making its initial statement.
But the band, who called off its Verizon concert short after three songs over pigeon poop that fell onto the band during its set, has opened up again.
Kings of Leon's Nathan Followill told Billboard magazine, in conjunction with an interview about the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, "I think in the end, it's going to help us more than it hurt us. It's just one of those things that happened, and looking back on it now it's a lot funnier than it was at the time. But we really felt bad for the fans -- especially those that had driven a ways and stood out in the heat all day. But sometimes, y'know, (expletive) happens -- in this case literally.
"We're happy to move forward and we've been having great shows since," Followill added, "so hopefully Pigeon-gate can officially be put to rest."
Followill said Verizon was infested with pigeons, a claim refuted by the the venue, which said there was only one offensive pigeon.
Live Nation issued refunds for the canceled concert.
