Updated: Rapper Nelly is wasting no time responding to the raid of his tour bus Wednesday night in which heroin, marijuana and a loaded gun were found.

He reached out to his Twitter and to TMZ, which broke the story late Thursday morning.

Nelly's tour bus was stopped at a border point in Sierra Blanca, Texas, where police found 36 baggies of heroin, more than 10 pounds of marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber pistol. The seven people on the bus were detained.

Brian Keith Jones admitted the drugs and pistol were his and he was arrested. Jones is Nelly's longtime bodyguard.

“It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning," Nelly told TMZ Thursday. "Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.”

On Twitter, Nelly sent out three related tweets:

• "I'm not gone front I'm MAD as Hell about this sh#t!!2have some1 who works 4u n who u call a friend 4 ova 10years jeopardize ur life WTF?"

• "That being said he was not only an employee but he was fam some1 who protected my life 4many years! No excuses for wad he did!!!!"

• "My heart goes out to his fam and is kids!!!!"

After the tweets, Nelly posted a flier promoting his hosting duties at his friend Ashanti's birthday party tonight in Atlanta.

Rapper of St. Lunatics weighed in as well, on his Facebook page. He said: "I respect everyones comments and or concerns.... Nelly had nothing to do with that (crap) up under the bus, and no he is not or has ever been on heroin. you all are right when you say that we have to be careful about who we hang around... but these brothers are not new people...we have been knowing the brother for 25yrs since we was little kids. But one thing is Really Clear and True to use now...You can take the (n-word) out the Hood but you can't the Hood out the (n-word)."
