Five years ago, Matt Fernandes approached me about an idea to start the Rock Candy blog. He wanted to focus on Indie bands that might not otherwise receive coverage and provide a voice to that community.

Space pop in Technicolor: Here We Go Magic plays Firebird Sat.

Brooklyn quintet Here We Go Magic's sound is difficult to pigeonhole. Despite using traditional rock instrumentation, the band brings a kaleidescope of mystical space pop, with looping vocals and double-time bass lines. If you had to pick one word to describe it, 'hypnotica' would suffice.
