KPLR-TV CW 11 News Changes Weeknight Anchors
MELANIE MOON MOVES TO WEEKNIGHTS; KATHRYN JAMBORETZ TAKES OVER WEEKENDS
STST. LOUIS, January 3, 2007 - Tribune Broadcasting's CW Television Network affiliate, KPLR, CW 11 will make a shift at the news anchor desk effective Monday, January 8, 2007.
Melanie Moon will join Rick Edlund weeknights at 9:00 p.m. and Kathryn Jamboretz will move to weekends, sharing anchoring duties with Jeff Bernthal, it was announced today by CW 11 News Director, Sheldon Ripson. Both journalists have been with the station since May 2000.
Ms. Jamboretz made the decision to leave the station March 1, 2007 in order to spend more time with her husband and new baby. She will remain with CW 11 News until then, with her replacement already on the team and leaving time for the station to find a new weekend co-anchor.
âK"Kathryn has been an outstanding employee, and we certainly respect her personal decision.," said Ripson, who added, âWe are thrilled that she will remain a significant contributor to our news team."
ReReplacing Ms. Jamboretz is Melanie Moon, current co-anchor of CW 11's weekend newscasts. âMelanie was the natural choice for us as weeknight co-anchor," said Ripson. Ms. Moon has experience behind the anchor desk both weeknights and on weekends. âHer skills and expertise assure this to be a smooth transition," added Ripson.
