Just so you're not disappointed, it's not about dogs. Instead, this new series - one of the best of fall - stars Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James as unlicensed private detectives. The drama (with comedy) created by Ted Griffin, with Shawn Ryan ("The Shield") as executive producer, is sure to become a favorite with anyone who loves smart, offbeat cable drama.

'Dark Blue'

Currie Graham ("NYPD Blue") guests in the first of two episodes, in which a home-invasion sting goes wrong.

'Hellcats'

Aly Michalka (of the sister group Aly & AJ) plays a struggling student who saves her law school ambitions by landing a spot on the college cheerleading squad. The cast of the new drama includes Ashley Tisdale ("High School Musical").

'Psych'

In the conclusion of the summer finale, Nestor Carbonell (Richard on "Lost") returns as a criminal profiler.

'Top Chef: D.C.'

9 p.m. on Bravo

As the two-part season finale begins, the survivors head for Singapore.
