You don't see a lot of praise from BAM very much.

The start of something very special coming to C-U.

3 of the top 7?

Not sure if that's meant to be taken literally or not, but that implies that Paul and Griffey are playing their way into being the first two folks off the bench (or even starting). Shocked

I'm not surprised in the least about Paul - coming in I even thought he might out-do Richardson, but I'm frankly stunned to hear that Griffey is looking like he could be in the rotation ahead of Simpson and Keller.

DJ Richardson sounds like he is going to be one special kid. A "glue" guy on top of being highly-skilled.

This roster is so freaking dynamic. They are well-equipped to play and excel at pretty much any style of basketball thrown at them.

Yeah no doubt. "3 of the top 7 are freshman" are words that we are hearing not only this year but could be hearing the next two years (at LEAST) as well...

If Bruce Webber thinks he has a lot of things to figure out with the rotation THIS year, he has no idea what he's in for next year when all three incoming guys are going to be potential day 1 starters. He'll probably be "relieved" in 2011 when the Mikes and McCamey have graduated so he won't have to feel bad relegating them to the bench...

It is almost beyond comprehension that if the Illini somehow landed Beal he would be the 3rd top-50, 2nd of whom is in the top-20, for 2011. And that the Illini could be landing kids that end up being 1-and-Done.

I wish Zook could turn it around coaching-wise like BAM has done with recruiting.

Next year (2010) is going to be even more incredible. And potentially 2011 even better if Richmond stays, Beal/Randle commit, and Crandall heals completely. All this with the current freshman having 2 years experience. Oh, and a new set of stud freshman. Laughing

Good Lord.

It sounds pretty darn good on paper and the program is certainly heading in a great direction, but as BAM commented let's see how they do when the big lights come on. I am sure they'll adjust, just how long will it take?

GO ILLINI!!!

Totally agree.

We will DEFINITELY see ups and downs with the Freshman and this team.

My excitement is to see a lineup filled with talent and potential once again. I, for one, certainly don't expect this to mean we are a Top 10 team already.

It will take time and growing pains and I think most rational fans accept that.

I agree, but I really think they need to advance past the 1st round of the NCAA Tourny this year.

Last year was disappointing, but understandable. Nowadays, with so many one and dones, I do not think it is as unreasonable to expect more out of a freshman class. I'm not expecting National Championship, or even Big Ten champs, just second round or Sweet Sixteen loss rather than 1st round.

Last year we had 25 wins and a 1st round come from behind exit without our leader, Chester.

Certainly nothing to be down about, as a whole.

I do expect this team to come together by March. I do expect 23-24 wins. I do expect a 1st round win.

They will be ready to play and with a few bounces and breaks, could make some serious noise.

That's basically what I tried to say with disappointing but understandable. I was bummed out, but not too bent out of shape. W/ Chester I think it would have been a sure win. So yeah, I agree.

Gotcha.

Last year was surprising. We won't and shouldn't be sneaking up on anyone.......anytime in the near future.

These recruiting classes are highly recognized throughout the country.

Patience and tempered enthusiasm until this team can come together.

The B10 is going to be a Top 2 conference this year. Expectations should be high, but reasonable.

Next year will be craziness.
