To bat second in front of Albert and play leftfield.

Could be a possibility but I really feel the Cardinals as a team just had a bad slump the last month of the season. I'd also like to see Holliday re-sign with us. I would put him and Pujols in a room and say 'Guys, how much will it take for the two of you?'

I would also like to see a little.....no, make that a lot more small ball. More stealing, more hit and runs etc. Pujols was crazy last year, taking chances, gambles and mostly getting away with it. I'd like to see more of the aggressiveness.

Confused

I'd take Damon on a two year deal in a heart beat.

Sadly we can kiss Matt goodbye as he's the primo free agent this offseason and big market teams (NYY, NYM, BoSox and LAA) are on the prowl.

Damon doesn't run like he used to but can still steal 10-20 bases if TLR we're to bat him leadoff.

Unfortunately noone batting in front of Albert can run unless you want to see El Hombre walked intentionally everytime.

New league, 35-years old, not strong in the field, has talked about retirement. He may still have some years left in him, but has some question marks.

It isn't the sexy play this offseason, but I'd take a chance on Xavier Nady, even if he isn't ready right away. Then re-sign DeRosa to play left and third, if Freese can't cut it, and see what Craig can do in the outfield.

I also think the Cardinals should inquire about Adam Dunn or Josh Willingham from the Nats.

Also, I think this team should devote some resources to bolstering the bullpen and adding a power arm. What we've got isn't enough, and you can't assume some of the young guys will be ready.

Or we could say a veteran World Series winner, looking for another one, who still has something left in the tank!

Johnny Damon Batting Stats for Years 2008 to 2009

.292/.370/.475/.845

Better than an Allan Craig/Joe Mather platoon. Crying or Very sad

Nady will miss most of 2010 with Tommy John surgery. I prefer Bobby Abreu for the two-hole.

Damon or Abreu in front of Albert would make me real happy! Very Happy

Did you pull up a chair for Scott Boras?
