I'm not talking about some frivolous piece of Hollywood cr..ap like spider man, Star trek, Ghost, the dirty dozen,...... bla bla bla. Not bad movies but you get my meaning. Something that rocks you, brings your emotions to the surface, A part of history.


The Grapes of Wrath,.. beat that, please or match it..

Can't disagree with the previous posts, but I'll add:

Comedy: (Old) Some Like It Hot; (New) Most of the Pixar films (Love Tommy Boy and Dumb and Dumber, but they're for a different list)

SciFi/Fantasy: (Old) Alien and 2001: A Space Odyssey; (New) Children of Men and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Really like some of the war movies also, like Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, the Bridge on the River Kwai, and Apocalypse Now.

1. Runaway Train: Jon Voight, Eric Roberts, Rebecca DeMorney. Best movie that not too many have seen.
2. Dazed and Confused: My favorite autobiographical comedy ever.
3. Goodfellas: My personal fav of the genre, BARELY over Godfather and Godfather 2. IMHO.
4. Vision Quest: One of my favorite movies with at least a semblence of a sports theme.
5. Titanic: Kate, Leo, the story, the suspense, the love, the boat sinking........ok, just kidding here.

Honorable mention: Caddyshack/Airplane/Stripes/Fletch
