Jermaine Dye is still a respectable defensive outfielder. I agree he's a viable option. You can play him in right, if he's more comfy there, and move Ludwick to left.
Dye struggled in the second half this year, but I still think he's good for .260-20-85. And the most attractive part is he'll likely just be looking for a two-year deal at the most, maybe even one with an option.

For those of you that think that Jermaine Dye
is the answer then you better check with Albert to see if he agrees??
I don't predict that Albert will perceive that Dye is the answer to replace a guy like Holliday, for a team striving to get back into post-season.

We Cards fans don't care if he can't get to balls, just as long as he doesn't drop the ones he does get to.
