this is show 29 for me.
want to hear all the new album, but 'kept my soul','shady grove' and 'jerimiah' would make my night. but in 7 days that list is most likely going to change a time or two.
going to indy on the 10th so i'm hoping to hear most of the new record between the 2 nights.
i was at the KC show too, i thought 'i aint hiding' was a good tune live. the band seemed to dig the dumbfounded look on some of the faces in the crowd.
... and JDUB, just keep an eye out for those other rock n'roll bands. they are out there. (drive-by truckers is top notch in my book. and jason isbell and 400 unit are playing in st. louis on 18th, great rock show also)

DBT for sure...don't know the others.
I would also recommend Govt Mule. Jimmy Page said they were the greatest American Rock and Roll band around after he played with them at Bonaroo 2 years ago.

This will be show #18 for me..some of my favorites below. There were also some New Earth Mud shows in there along the way, but this will be 18 straight up Crowes Shows for me.
5/06/94- Beale Street Music Fest- Memphis
3/07/95 Fox
8/03.95- Riverport- Got freaked out by the Crow and Devil on stage during the jam. HORDE Fest.Whooaa.
10/1/96 American
7/20/97- Riverport- Further Fest. Marc sat in on jam at the end for something...next time you see me maybe. Cool to see the boys from the Dead and the Crowes together...two of my favorites ever.
9/11/98 Miss Nights (awesome Zepp jam at that show...and the boys came around and shook hands with everyone in line that night..awesom)
2/13/99 Mardi Gras here...awesome High Head Blues
5/06/01- Beale Street Music Fest- Memphis
10/17/01 The Pageant
10/10/05 The Pageant - Day before my B-Day...awesome show. Broke out Most Likely You Go Your Way (Dylan) Last show I saw with Marc Ford. Huge energy and had that reunion feeling to it.
10/11/05- Soldiers Hall KC- Power outage...woops.
10/19/07- The Pageant- Dude threw the beer at Chris. Don't Do It for the encore. awesome.
7/25/08- Soldiers Memorial- Hot as hell...great show.
7/09/09- Voodoo North KC- Great venue, had a blast, heard a lot of Warpaint and I Ain't Hidin.

Todays Crowes Song of the Day "Mak Glad". Love your neighbor ALL!
Ballad and Dagger, Amazing Grace
Sons of rock bottom take
your rightful place
Glad tooth and top hat with
an ace up your sleeve
Show me your pistol so I can believe
[Chorus:]
Make Glad
Find the beauty in the broken
Make Glad
May your heart always be open
Make Glad
Keep an eye out for your brother
Make Glad
[ Find more Lyrics on www.mp3lyrics.org/lWTJ ]
And I will see you in the other
Turpentine babies with one
foot in the south
Turned out the turnkey for
runnin' his mouth
"Jump", said the sheriff -
"Get up out of that hole
Get in line and do what you're told!"
[Chorus:]
Make Glad
Find the beauty in the broken
Make Glad
May your heart always be open
Make Glad
Keep an eye out for your brother
Make Glad
And I will see you in the other

I don't want to give too much away, but the Jam they played in the opener ("Roll on Jeremiah") was awesome. I downloaded the show from Croweslive and I can't get "Shine Along" or "Garden Gate" out of my head! After the fourth song I remember thinking "They could walk off the stage right now and I'd be okay with it!"

Todays Song of the Day...
ANOTHER ROADSIDE TRAGEDY - in honor of last nights setlist. love me some ART
Kiss me goodnight, shake me awake.
The closer I get to you the more I can't wait.
Roll on down here; smell my brakes.
No time for coffee, just splash water on my face.
Kick my tires, count out-of-state plates.
Roll down my window, don't the wind feel great.
Sunrise my friend, sunset again.
The song I keep humming while my four wheels are spinning.
Another road, another road, another roadside tragedy.
Wind it down and back it up.
I might get there sooner than I thought
No warranty or no wear and tear
It don't matter just as long as I get there.
Another road, another road, another roadside tragedy.
Another road, another road, another roadside tragedy.
Another road, another road, another roadside tragedy.
Another road, another road, another roadside tragedy.

No clue..they've passed us up a couple of times in favor of KC. Either way, GM is awesome and Warren is one of the most genuine people in the business. He's helped us with Phillip-A-Looza in the past, by donating items and signing posters and handbills (including the whole band and an autographed baseball from Gregg Allman for me.) Our plan, in the future, is to have Warren play Phillip-A-Looza. He is aware of it and donates something every year.

years ago warren stood outside in the cold rain and waited with/met fans while we all waited in those long lines outside before doors opened(rip mississippi nights). thanked us all for coming out in the weather and was very personable. acted like it wasnt that long ago he was waiting in those same lines, and didnt forget how it stinks. always like the music, from then on respected the man.
crowes show in 4 days by the way. i'm still hoping for heavy play off new album, but chicago/miluakee had a cut in the new songs. they did get cursed diamond in chicago, so i'd call it a wash.

Had the pleasure of hanging with Warren in Columbia after a show and the same after a show here at the Pageant two years ago. Just as decent of a guy as you can hang with. He also popped out the side door at the Fox and played a few songs acoustic in the parking lot before a Phil Lesh and Friends show in like 02. Said "thanks" to everyone who came out, and went back inside to play the show. You'd never know he was a rockstar and here's a guy who's played with everybody.
