Juice Williams was 5-for-5 with a TD pass before injuring his ankle. This off the heels of a pretty good performance against Michigan.
Does Juice lose his starting job due to injury, given his improved performance of late? Merely posing the question.
Also would like to point out how amazingly better any QB looks when accompanied by a running game and a defense that actually makes some plays.
Much to the chagrin it seems of most Illini fans that love to hate Juice, my guess is that - if healthy - Juice will be back in there starting. Charest will no doubt be getting his share of PT off the bench though, regardless of how well Juice is playing.
I don't think that most of the fans that have expressed dissapointment in Juice's performance hate him for that. I do think that most people that have expressed dissatisfaction with his performance feel that as a senior QB his performance should have been better. He is obviously not the only reason for the teams overall poor results, but he is the leader on the field and he has failed in his leadership role, much like Zook has during much of his 5 years in his position. One thing you can count on Juice being is inconsistent. I personally do not have a problem with Juice playing some, but Charest should be seeing signiicant playing time to prepare for next year. This team more than likely will not see a bowl this year and needs to look toward the future.
