Why wasn't David perron playing in overtime last night? Is he in Murray's doghouse again? I would have loved to see Perron and Eller out there togeather in overtime. We had no shots at all in overtime last night. What do you think?

The funny thing is he was in the shootout but missed the net.

You mean like Lemieux or Roy?

If he was playing like either of them the Blues would be in FIRST PLACE!!

You obviously have missed the gold mine of a thread about French Canadians on this very front page.

He only played above 12 minutes the whole game.

I have been a Blues fan my whole life so this is kinda depressing for me because Perron is a talent that has really energized the huge hockey fan in me.

So with much pain I have come to the conclusion that David Perron the player will never break out/evolve into his full potential under Andy Murray as coach.

Perron is not a north south player and sometime plays outside the box which some coaches would embrace. But I am afraid in Andy Murray's rigid system he does not.

For example he should be getting first line powerplay time and regular PK time.

He should be used late in games and overtime. He should also be double shifted sometimes.

In reality on a team that has alot of trouble scoring goals he is barely used in any of the situations above.

Fans would say he has to earn this, but I put forth that he already has and players that are playing in these situations now have not earned this.

Boyes commits a major turnover in ot last night and there he is out there again. For Example

The tales and trials of Perron and Murray have been well documented and I dare say that if you have a brain you cannot deny that there is some substance and underlying reason for this from day one.

You see this post is not a rant. It is really very disappointing for me to tell you the truth.

I disagree. It's only under the care of Murray, that the kid has progressed as fast as he has. He does a lot of things great, but he still gets tunnel vision at times, and doesn't make the smart play. This too, will pass, and he will take his place in those situations.

No Barnburner not this time.

I have been through this before with you and others and I am not here to fight.

As I stated this conclusion is not easy for me, because it means that Perron may have to find success elsewhere.

Tunnelvision fercryinoutloud, Perron created a scoring chance on nearly everyone of his 17 shifts (pathetic)

An interesting post game interview last season for me was Murray stating after a game "That Perron played very well and deserved to play more"

Translation I know the kid played well but I cannot deviate from my system no matter what.

Many other coaches would have played him until his wheels fell off.

Fans attribute Perron's maturation to Murray and only Murray but how can you disregard what Perron may have done under another coach. We cannot, because we will never know.

And attributing Perron's success also ignores his first two years going from Midget to the NHL. There was no Murray then.

Andy Murray is one human being in a world of millions and his vision is by no means the only one.

Meaning that there could be many experienced individuals that do not see hockey the way he does at all.

Hey - you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
You see a talented kid that is being held back.
I see a talented kid that is progressing in stages.
We both want the best for the kid, and the Blues.
