Apparently Terry Black sold out (yet again) and there are now new owners.... I swore off Super Smokers after what I heard about prior employees getting stiffed on salaries they were due. We decided to give them a shot after seeing the "New Management" balloon out front...and 50% off is tough to pass on!

I took the fam up last night and, not surprisingly, the line was out the door. We were served after a wait of only about 5 minutes but those who ordered ribs (we selected the turkey breast) had to wait up to 45 minutes. I heard a lot of negative chatter among those who waited..and waited...and waited.. We, literally, were seated/ate/relaxed and were out the door before those who ordered BEFORE us had their ribs.

Holding a money losing promotion...then failing to execute properly...which results in pis$ed off customers...is a recipe for failure. The staff was working hard to please but someone in the back of the house clearly dropped the ball. Hopefully they got it together today because they really appeared to be trying hard to please everyone.

The 50% off promo is valid thru the end of biz tomorrow.

next time you want smoked meats and bbq,head on out to o'fallon,mo,and try ethyl's-you will not be dissapointed.

Ugh. Based on my last two visits to that Super Smokers, 50% off is still too much.

Much better barbecue can be had at Lil Mickey's and Ethyls.

As much as I really wanted to enjoy our 50% off meal I must admit it was less than satisfying. Sad

The sweet potato fries had to be sent back due to being cold, my baked beans were lukewarm and the smoked turkey breast was overcooked and a bit dry.

The list of "restaurant people" like Black is long, yet they still keep raising money for their doomed ventures. Must be great salesmen. They will stiff their staff, people who bought GCs, their investors...amazing.

Agreed...Ethyl's is way overrated...Its generally crowded, noisy, and smoky - the service is below average at best, and the food, IMHO is not above average.
