Either the Illinois Cellars Norton or the Cave Winery Norton. Both are very good for local wines. Also, The St. James Winery Chambourcin is pretty decent. We've yet to taste their Cynthiana, both on sale at Shop N' Save for a very reasonable price. On the white side we enjoy any of the local Vignoles and/or Rieslings. And Montelle produces a good blend, Himmelswein, for those preferring a blended wine.

What amazes me is the price point for Illinois Cellars Norton. Sure it's not a world shaking red wine, but when you can get it on sale for $8 or less a bottle, it's a heck of a deal. I'm yet to see any other local winery pushing Norton's out there for less than $10 a bottle.

Check out Shop 'N Save. They've got the Illinois Cellars Norton for right around $6. The last bottle I bought was $5.68, or something like that! A week or two ago it was $6.62. And, believe it or not, the St. James Cynthiana (vintage 2008) goes for $5.08 a bottle!!

Pierano Estates Chard for the white and the Cab for the red. Outstanding. $12.99/bottle.

Good answers here. You still finding the 2004 though?

No but I still have a half dozen in my fancy wine cellar(under the basement steps).
The meal must be McWilliams worthy before I open one.

I have not tried on line.

I've become rather addicted to Shiraz with my steak the last few years.

Before that it was Hermannoff or Stone Hill 2002 Norton.
I have one bottle of each left.
They go great with my wife's beef stew.

Mount Pleasant's Harvest Red is a staple at my house. I'm the only wine drinker in the family so I'm picky but cheap. I've had a Liebfraumilch from Trader Joe's that I like but can't recall the name. I'm sure it was under $10, most likely under $6!! I like cheap wine. Around the holidays, you'll find several bottles of Andre pink champagne in my fridge, along with orange juice, for the very necessary morning mimosa. Very Happy
