He isnt Pronger--But as your third best defenseman. We are lucky. He was terrific last night. He really was. Awesome defense, passing, and shooting. I was forced to eat crow last night. I think he is close to being back into form.

What a good problem to have--so many good defenseman.

+1

I am really liking how our defense is shaping up. When we break out of our offensive funk, I think we Blues fans can relax a little bit more and know we are still on course for building a strong, competitive team.

He was last night. Quite impressive. I cant remember the last time (if ever) that I saw Brewer have such a solid 60 min game.

Thats the problem with Brewer,he plays great like last night and then he will take a game or 2 off, thats what drives us fans that know hockey crazy. He COULD be a very good player in this league but he has to want it on an every night basis.

I'm not a Brewer supporter for the most part, but I will admit when anyone plays well. Last night Brewer played very well. I even told my dad last night, I can't believe I'm saying this but Brewer is playing a really good game. Hopefully he continues to play like this.

He is healthy and well rested. This is the Eric Brewer that was so highly touted years ago. If he can remain healthy and consistant, it should really solidify the D and take some heat off of Jackman.

He played pretty good. Held onto the puck way too much though.... could easily of had a few shots on goals for rebounds. All in all he's coming around slowly.

i dont think there is a blues fan that likes brewer however he played amazing last night overall and we do need to appreciate the fact he is a competitive player and is dealing with no one liking him. I support him 110% for playing these rough years post pronger GO BLUES and brewer scores tonight just saying

I've always been annoyed by the Brewer-hatred on here, and elsewhere, but one 'knock' that actually IS somewhat accurate is that Brewer was inconsistent. If he played EVERY game like he did last night, people wouldn't harp so much on his occasional miscues (that EVERYONE makes from time to time).

(Of course, it would help if they could see that often making the 'right' (i.e. best percentage) play still sometimes doesn't stop the goal or start the rush...)

Wrong. People booed his name when it was announced that he had an assist on Eller's first goal. There will be a select few Blues fans that will never like him at all. He could win the Norris this year and still get booed.
