Lars Eller has made a huge impact to this teams' offensive depth. If you add McDonald, there might not be a very large need for a scorer anymore judging the way the blues like to "build from within". The only reasons I say this is because they would have to take away from there current roster to add that player. I'm also talking in terms of when Steen returns to the lineup as well. This also, however, may force a trade if Eller remains up here.

What the Blues could do is this:

1. Send Winchester/Weaver through Waivers.

2. Make a blockbuster trade. (This would have to include a scorer/enforcer, a defense package and some pick(s)).

Personally I would like the second option and see them go after an Eric Staal or Ilya Kovalchuk or someone of that caliber but that may not happen.

This kind of trade would have to be something like:
Winchester, Boyes, Colaiacovo, Draft Pick.

I don't want to see Boyes go if he doesn't have to go because he's relatively cheap considering how many points he puts up per year.

I'd say it's a given that Lars gets sent back to Peoria. I don't think the management would risk losing an asset when they don't have to (even Winnie). All Eller has to do is wait for a trade to be made, or the inevitable injury to clear a roster spot.

BTW, I agree with everyone else that he has sparked the team. Kid has some good skills AND cajones. I can't wait until he is a permenant fixture with the Blues. It's just safe to send him down for now.
