Problems with the computerized grading system gave some players innacurate grades a report card time. The rule is that they would have to sit out for two weeks. However, the AD told the players if they could get letters of approval from those teachers they could play. Once they got the letters, he told them that i dodnt matter and they still had to sit out.

So, did the system show them having lower grades than they actually had, and the AD wanted verification from the teachers that the kids were, in fact, academically OK?

Any idea why the AD still refused to let them play?

Seems to me this would be at the top of the Prep Sports section if it were true. I find it hard to believe that any administration would allow a computer error or grading error by teachers to keep kids from playing a sport they legitimately had the right to be playing. I'm guessing their is either more to this story or it is completely bogus...

There seems to always be an excuse when star athletes are found to be academically ineligible. It's never their fault - always a school glitch. These aren't a bunch of scholars we are talking about here. And if they can't make the grades in HS, they'll never make it as college student-athletes, either.

I was at the Priory-Ritter game. Ritter seemed to have all their starters except Trey Perry. The Ritter Bench was thin, but I think all the starters were there. They just got dominated by a Priory team that has peaked at the right time. Craig Boyce was unbelievable for Priory with 192 yards rushing. Pat Moley and Billy Busch had 5 sacks between them. Matt Jones, QB, played some cornerback and had a pick. Ritter is talented, but couldnt get going.

Although it sounds like excuses, if you were at this game, early calling by the refs were terrible, Ritter lose a fumble when the refs blew a whistle on a false start and every ritter player stops and Priory strips the ball and refs say their ball on the 6 yard line. Then there was a controversal fumble that refs ruled down but the player was clearly still falling forward.

Plus the loss of Trey Perry along with a two starting linebackers and a offensive lineman hurt, also Bryson Cofield got injured in the first quarter and along with Josh Temple helped to clog up the holes.

Now I credit Priory for playing good and they did outplay Ritter but going into the half 28-0 and possibly 14-7 would have made a difference.

Ritter was not full strenghth but Priory still played well

The fact of the matter is that its true. Whether you believe it or not doesn't change that.

Next subject: can someone with a brain please give us a list of All Conf players from each position? including POY.

caught the ritter priory game. Unbelievable calls by the refs. I did see several players with varsity jerseys in the stands an overheard parnets talking about what the AD had done. Unbelievable that those kids had to go through that. I am not knocking Priory but i dont think they could be ritter at full stength. Also ritter lost their capt in DE Coefield in the 2nd quarter, big loss. Regardless, good game priory.

PS: With trinity and ritter making the playoffs, i think the AAA is making their mark in stl.

Funny to hear a Cardinal Ritter fan complain about the refs. I heard at the Trinity game that thier were numerous mysterious flags thrown that cost Trinity three touchdowns. In the playoffs, the referees are assigned and not hand picked by the schools. Give Priory credit for the victory, but I do have to agree that Ritter losing was a huge surprise.

Is St. Mary's the only all boys school in the AAA? & have problems making .500 every year.
